Synopsis

Xander Cage is your standard adrenaline junkie with no fear and a lousy attitude. When the US Government "recruits" him to go on a mission, he's not exactly thrilled. His mission: to gather information on an organization that may just be planning the destruction of the world, led by the nihilistic Yorgi.

Rammstein. Let the bodies hit the floor. Tattooed Vin Diesel. Tony Hawk and Danny Trejo cameo. Beautiful cars. Beautiful women. Ridiculous stunts. Our neighbor countries getting blown up for no reason whatsoever. “I told him that cigarette was gonna kill him one day”, “Kiss my ass, Scarface”, “You’ve just entered the Xander Zone”. This… this is what great movies are made of. -My dad

“James Bond is out of date! He won’t cut it for this generation!” [Proceeds to make a movie that’s exactly like a James Bond movie, only the guy at the center of it has lots of bad tattoos and wears a hideous coat.]

Only the most cultured movies make references to The Third Man. Nothing captures the essence of this movie better than the line “dude, stop thinking Prague police and start thinking PlayStation, blow shit up!”

An all-time guilty pleasure for me, mainly because I thought this was the coolest fucking thing when I saw it at the age of 10 years old. Vin Diesel as extreme sports secret agent Xander Cage, who at one point uses a metal dinner tray like a skateboard to grind down the railing of a set of stairs as he escapes his own assassination attempt. Hysterically stupid and silly from top-to-bottom, as well as being drenched in early 2000s fads, trends and music. xXxTREME. ✖️❌️✖️👨‍🦲🚘🪂🇨🇴🩸⚔️🏍💥🚁🇨🇿🧔🏻‍♀️👩🏻🌊❄️🏂🚀💨☠️

has there ever been a filmmaker more self-deluded as to his own coolness than Rob Cohen? this movie starts with a 007 stand-in failing to infiltrate a Rammstein concert, which of course makes all the sense. there are approximately 2 good minutes in this bloated 124-minute tin-eared miscalculation, a couple of truly outstanding motorcycle stunts (slightly marred with some hairy digital head replacement). the rest is significantly worse than the same year’s Bond entry, the somehow-still-less-excruciating DIE ANOTHER DAY (which, given XXX’s extreme sports angle and CG-assisted snowboarding sequence, plays now as a direct response to this dueling-glove slap). compare this film’s snowboard skydive to the much-derided, extremely corny MOONRAKER’s pre-credit sequence and tell me which movie spy is the…

The most “early 2000s” film of all time. The movie opens on a Rammstein concert. Need I say more? Edgy James Bond sure is entertaining.

“The things I’m gonna do for my country.” The opening Rammstein show is a gathering of the sexiest people on the planet. Xander’s tattoos are so random and generic but I’m pretty sure Vin Diesel in just a fur coat and long johns was part of my Gay Awakening™.

They could make a hologram of Ernest P Worrell the next James Bond and it would result in a better movie than this.

It has been twenty four years. My local theater is showing an anniversary re-release of “The Fast And The Furious”. I doubt a similar reappraisal is coming from Rob Cohen’s follow-up, which was corny and desperate-to-please even then. Vin Diesel seemed like a cool guy back then, but this movie is him turning to you, wearing shades, sipping a Mountain Dew and telling you, “I actually AM a cool guy.” Thank God for problematic queen Asia Argento, who rolls her eyes through this entire stupid affair.

“Stop thinking Prague police and start thinking Playstation. Blow shit up!” A wildly entertaining action flick! Cohen strings together some electric sequences and Diesel makes for a capable action hero. Truthfully, this might be one of the most early 2000’s movie ever made.

This one’s awesome. The Rammstein opener was iconic. It has all the stuff I love about Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious. Great stunts and gadgets, great one-liners, so funny. Some really good music. Such a blast, exceeds expectations. Would recommend.

It’s been a minute since I’ve seen xXx so I decided to check out the director’s cut. The film is like 99% the same thing but I dont mind because xXx is still a good time and it is has a similar plot to The Suicide Squad. It’s one of those “guilty pleasures” for me because of the early 2000s nostalgic content including the extreme sports, heavy metal music of the day, younger Vin Disel looking cool, and the nonstop…
