I only remember two things about this movie. The first is the metal headpiece outfit that Padme wears because I had a figurine of her in that outfit and loved it. The second is being amazed at how unfazed she was at taking about a billion pounds of force straight to the crotch and not wincing at all.

High 2.5 star to low 3 star. Not a star wars fan but think prequels are overhated. Think episode 2 is a step up from episode 1. There was some clunky dialogue and some meh acting and some plot points that didn’t make sense, but overall not bad. We starting getting some of the anakin turning to the dark side stuff, but he doesn’t actually turn until the third one which i wasn’t convinced by in episode three so this one avoids that pitfall.

Weak plot and drags on a little too long but overall I think it still holds up fine, like if you are willing to look past some discrepancies and just enjoy Star Wars for what it is you will have a good time despite it lacking some places.

Ehhhhh. The movie is a bit of a mess and brings in random characters that don’t make much sense. The dialogue isn’t very good, way too many romance scenes that also aren’t great. I understand that the Padme/Anakin romance is important in how he falls to the dark side, but it is way over done. Some very awkward scenes in that movie. Does introduce the clones however which bumps it up some points. 2.5/5

Hm ja, erg lelijke film. Voor een groot deel kan ik mijn review van Episode I hier kopieëren en plakken. Nog steeds slechte dialoog, houterig acteerwerk en ongeïnspireerd geregisseerd. Obviously a disaster but not without some merits. I buy what Hayden Christensen is selling much more than most considering how little he has to work with dialogue-wise and with Portman giving absolutely nothing. I enjoy the genre play, though they could’ve leaned harder into noir with Obi-Wan’s arc. It’s best around the Tatooine massacre, where The Searchers source material resonates—a reminder that John Wayne holds most of the Darth Vader DNA. The romance is mostly flat but there are a couple of scenes where I genuinely see it.

Probably would be so much better if I watched it on my own or with someone who i actually enjoyed being around and if they actually stfu instead of talking over it so I couldn’t understand what was going on and then having to, again, talk over it to explain to me what they were just talking over. Other than that it was alright.
