Don’t buy anything!” – Jimmy “The fuck you’re looking at? Come on, make that coffee to go, let’s go! The fuck you doing? It’s a joke. A joke! Put the fucking pot down. That shot of De Niro smoking at the bar with the camera slowly moving towards him while Sunshine Of Your Love is playing, will forever be one of my favourite shots of all time. He is so god damn cool.

Love when young Henry Hill talks about why he wants to be a gangster and the first thing he mentions is that they get to park in front of fire hydrants without getting in trouble

Watching Goodfellas for the first time after you finished Sopranos is a mistake. I can’t even take some characters seriously after all the Sopranos’ memes and brainrot knowledge i consumed, especially Billy Bats aka Shah of Iran.

Watch as we constantly shift between three different dramatic beats in random order with a bunch of really thin characters and not give any moments the due dramatic weight they deserve, teeheehee. After the first fifty minutes this film just becomes long, repetitive noise

Good story expertly told. If it lost some impact for me that’s likely because I’ve seen all the rise and fall crime films that it inspired. It felt a little long but at the same time I can’t imagine a single scene you could cut, there’s always something interesting or exciting happening.

Absolute cinema! Martin Scorsese is truly a cinema legend, and Goodfellas is undoubtedly one of the best movies of all time. The immersive narration by Ray Liotta makes the movie incredibly engaging. His voiceover feels very natural and relaxed, perfectly matching the fast-paced storytelling. The kinetic editing, rapid cuts, pop-culture references, and high-energy filmmaking make the movie extremely entertaining. The fast pace is one of the biggest strengths of the film. It brilliantly shows how the mafia underworld works while…

Ever realize how at the start of the film, when Henry is a child, the color palette is a bright, kind of like how a kid would see the world, bright and colorful, but once he actually enters the life of being a mobster, its constantly dark, like all the liveliness has been sucked out of his life and the only times where it is bright, its usually bright red, but once he goes into witness protection, the colors start to…

i would say this is the successor of the god father a more grounded street level film i would say it is more realistic thatn the godfather as this is literally based on a true story anyway this is a great movie⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
-
T
This movie is for me THE gangster movie. Films Like the godfather have a lot of Gangter things in them but when it comes to capturing the essence of what gangsters are Goodfellas is it. From the many different shades of Mob members portrayed in it. To the ultimate Risen and Fall, Goodfellas offers a good look at the life of a Mafia member that is way more down in the packing order that a Boss The trio of Liotta, De Niro and Pesci also serves as one of the most iconic group of Mobsters in cinema with the latter giving an unapologetically unhinged performance
-
L
the whole rise-and-fall story is so entertaining. the characters are insane, the pacing keeps the movie moving, and there’s always something happening. definitely a classic, and i can see why people love it so much
