   Dashing Through the Snow is yet another Christmas movie with a generic, meaningless, grab-bag of a title. It’s not the most original plot either but there had to be something better they could have come up with… but, then again, they only thought up a premise and barely put together a comedy so what else would I expect? The flick stars Ludacris as a guy who hates Christmas trying to get his daughter home for the holidays when he runs into Santa as played by Lil Rel Howery. Wackiness ensues.    It doesn’t snow in the film until the last 15 minutes and it’s all CGI. Tim Story is a menace and he needs to be stopped!!! Dashing Through the Snow has good intentions but its script is ridiculously tired, cliche-ridden, and feels like a money-laundering scheme. Not one single aspect of this film feels unique outside of having a predominantly Black cast, which even for this year, isn’t all that special. Disney+ has a terrible habit of making Holiday films every year where it feels like there was zero effort put into the production. They all feel cheap, cheesy, and repetitive.     I forgot to rate this a few weeks ago when I watched it with my fam. Ludacris is still a bad actor, Lil Rel is doing what he does in a lot of movies, Oscar from The Office isn’t bad, Teyonah Parris does what she can with the material. Tim Story is still one of my least favorite directors for hire.

    Not even trying to be negative (because it’s Christmastime) but this was incredibly dry and boring. And they put Santa in this without any sense of wonder or joy, just cheap jokes and dated references that remind you this is a streaming movie. Also Ludacris is really handsome and cute here but his acting is really flat…

    The longest hour and a half movie. There’s times were it seems like Ludacris is being played a Ludacris impersonator. Still at times kinda ass off. It’s a real confusing performance. Lil Rel was decent Santa. Not a hundred percent sure if you can knock the writing if it’s a kids movie. I would say it doesn’t hit the beats of a movie. Sloppy in the beginning. Phobe.

    Lil Rel is honestly the best Santa in movie history and all his little facts add so much to the mythos of the character It does have that washed out flat streaming look though and some of the CG is real bad but this could be a modern classic for the writing and performances alone
