This holiday season, I’ve seen direct to streaming new release Xmas movies starring Rollergirl, Brandy, Jason Biggs, Eddie Murphy, Oscar nominated actress Melissa McCarthy and now Ludacris. Pretty wild….and the season is just getting started. Also kinda crazy that Tim Story directed something like this and The Blackening in the same year. 2023 Ranked Degrees of Kevin Bacon: 2 1. Luda and Keith David in Crash 2. Keith David and Kevin Bacon in Novocaine

Dashing Through the Snow is yet another Christmas movie with a generic, meaningless, grab-bag of a title. It’s not the most original plot either but there had to be something better they could have come up with… but, then again, they only thought up a premise and barely put together a comedy so what else would I expect? The flick stars Ludacris as a guy who hates Christmas trying to get his daughter home for the holidays when he runs into Santa as played by Lil Rel Howery. Wackiness ensues. This is just a long, tedious, tiresome sit full of decent ideas poorly executed and glaringly unfunny jokes. Howery should have made a good, funny Santa and Ludacris… hmmm… can…

Ludacris’ awful acting keeps ruining the joy that I’m having while watching this movie.

It doesn’t snow in the film until the last 15 minutes and it’s all CGI. Tim Story is a menace and he needs to be stopped!!! Dashing Through the Snow has good intentions but its script is ridiculously tired, cliche-ridden, and feels like a money-laundering scheme. Not one single aspect of this film feels unique outside of having a predominantly Black cast, which even for this year, isn’t all that special. Disney+ has a terrible habit of making Holiday films every year where it feels like there was zero effort put into the production. They all feel cheap, cheesy, and repetitive. Even now, this review feels no different than the ones I’ve written for Noelle or Godmothered. Every joke is…

I don’t get why it’s so hard for filmmakers nowadays to make a good Christmas movie. These new “holiday movies” that come out every year have become more and more difficult to watch each year. 2023 RANKED

A family Christmas movie. The snow scenes were beautiful. Some lines were really funny, other scenes it felt like they were trying too hard.

It’s a nice easy to follow comedy. I thoroughly enjoy Ludacris in films, he somehow stays himself but manages to embody the role he is given well

The 2 things this movie had going for it is 1. a whole lot of heart. And 2. it was funny for a scene or two the main guy being so straight man to everything.

I forgot to rate this a few weeks ago when I watched it with my fam. Ludacris is still a bad actor, Lil Rel is doing what he does in a lot of movies, Oscar from The Office isn’t bad, Teyonah Parris does what she can with the material. Tim Story is still one of my least favorite directors for hire.

Not even trying to be negative (because it’s Christmastime) but this was incredibly dry and boring. And they put Santa in this without any sense of wonder or joy, just cheap jokes and dated references that remind you this is a streaming movie. Also Ludacris is really handsome and cute here but his acting is really flat…

This movie gets 2.5 out of 5 stars on the family friendly Christmas movie scale 🎄 from me. It kinda reminded me of „Unwrapped“ (I just got the feeling of how this movie is made) but don‘t get me wrong imo „Unwrapped“ is definitely better than this one here. Sadly Ludacris is just a better rapper than actor… Madison on the other hand really surprised me with her acting skills and we all know we don’t have to talk about…

Pretty much exactly what I expected, Lil Rel is solid as Santa but the rest of the movie isn’t very good. Ass of for Lil Rel, ass on for Luda, phobe.

The longest hour and a half movie. There’s times were it seems like Ludacris is being played a Ludacris impersonator. Still at times kinda ass off. It’s a real confusing performance. Lil Rel was decent Santa. Not a hundred percent sure if you can knock the writing if it’s a kids movie. I would say it doesn’t hit the beats of a movie. Sloppy in the beginning. Phobe.

watching bad Christmas movies with my family pt. 1 the Santa logic of this made no sense at all like what was his point as Santa like as a character cool but as Santa? what are you doing in Atlanta in the middle of the day and spending the whole night there and nothing goes awry in the rest of the world? so does it literally not matter for him to actually do his job?

It’s still crazy to me that there’s a whole generation of people who will know Ludacris as an actor and not one of the greatest rappers of all time.

Lil Rel is honestly the best Santa in movie history and all his little facts add so much to the mythos of the character It does have that washed out flat streaming look though and some of the CG is real bad but this could be a modern classic for the writing and performances alone

Pretty inoffensive Christmas movie, could have stood to be a bit campier or just outright wild. Like there’s a somewhat funny moment with a fight scene that’s just a bit too restrain for the insanity it could have been

Tim Story has to be in the running for one of the worst directors of all time. And when you pair him up with a charisma vampire like Luda you’re in trouble (even if you’ve got the swagger of Lil Rel).

L’acteur principal surjoue un peu parfois, mais ça ne m’a pas empêché de passer un bon moment. C’est un bon film de Noël divertissant. La magie de Noël opère.

I feel like I got robbed of a Christmas movie. If I wanted to go on an adventure with Ludacris and his kid around Atlanta, I would’ve watched something else. And who is believing that Oscar from the Office is an elected mayor of Atlanta?

I was all set to laugh my way to the end. Unfortunately, whoever decided this film needs to feel, look, and have the quality of a ‘90s feel-good twee Christmas film for kids did this film, and its cast, a huge disservice.
