This film is a masterpiece, enough said. AND, for anyone who is interested here are some case facts that were left out of the film: Arthur Leigh Allen attended a college where a brutal murder happened on the football field and the administration got anonymous letters from the killer afterward. Leigh Allen also got a speeding ticket near Lake Berryessa the night of the Vallejo murders. He was 50 miles from his home. I wonder why he was driving so fast… 🙂

Very interesting movie. Lots of different perspectives from all the detectives, but i didn’t mind that i thought that was pretty cool. Some really suspenseful moments, and when Robert visited Bob Vaughn’s house, my heart was beating SO fast it was actually scary icl 😭. this definitely firmed up and sharpened my opinion of this movie for the large majority of the run time it’s a pretty bang standard thriller/detective story but in that last 40-50 minutes the suspense is turned from a solid 6/10 to at least 18 and it’s where fincher is at his best, or at least for me i don’t think the characters in this feel very deep, nothing bad about them but beyond certain points for graysmith everything just feels quite hollow also one where you can REALLY feel the run time, beyond that final part good movie but it isn’t even finchers best detective story

Everything about this movie gives me chills. That opening scene has me on the edge of my seat the whole time, and the last 30 minutes is beautifully thought provoking. Especially that last scene where Arthur Leigh Allen is identified before rolling the credits with that chilling song from the first murder scene.

Fincher constrói o suspense de maneiras completamente diferentes ao longo do filme. No começo, ele mostra a violência e a frieza dos assassinatos; conforme a investigação avança, passa a criar tensão muito mais pelo que os personagens percebem e pelo que o filme escolhe não mostrar. I wish Paul Avery didn’t lose himself, with rdj playing him, it just felt like Tony stark who I’ve missed. It’d be better if it wasn’t based off true events, I’d be less scared.

Jake gyllenhal (or however you spell his name) and Robert Downey junior were incredible. Lee was definitely the zodiac and there is no way it wasn’t. It is cool to think that the real zodiac could have watched that movie because no one was ever convicted for being the zodiac. I love the pacing at the beginning but it kinda gets slow towards the end. One of my favorite movie endings.
