Have I ever mentioned how this movie is a flawed masterpiece, and it deserves so much more credit than it gets? Treasure Planet is one of Disney’s most emotional movies by far. But beyond that, it’s one of their most visually psychedelic and inventive ones too. Blends CGI and traditional 2D animation in a way that’s just flat-out magical. It also features a great orchestral soundtrack by James Newton Howard. And to top it all off, it has a script that’s actually filled with layers and nuance and gives each character an arc. It’s amazing and you should watch it.

John Silver is honestly way too interesting and well-written of a character for this movie Doppler and Amelia seemed potentially interesting, cool of the movie to forget they exist and shove them into a forced rushed side romance The only way I can imagine a character as annoying as B.E.N. working is if he was voiced by the guy who voices Master Shake/Gazpacho Mr. Arrow was not the impostor I have nothing but respect for Ron and John but I can’t believe THIS was the passion project they desperately wanted to make for nearly 20 years

What she says: Treasure Planet is an underrated gem haha What she means: Disney released this the same week as Harry! Potter! in a ploy to kill 2D animation and that makes me want to scream into the space void!! WHO GAVE DISNEY THE RIGHT to abuse this technologically gorgeous and narratively gentle intergalactic adventure about love and finding personal strength despite all odds set against you ?!?

There are two different types of writers for kids movies: Writer #1: “Let’s tell an empowering story about a boy never having a father and during his quest for gold, have him realize that a father figure is what he was truly searching for and family is more valuable than money.” Writer #2: “Let’s make an alien that communicates by farting hahahahahahaha toot toot hahahahahaha” This film just so happens to have both. Simplemente brillante 🌌🧭🏴☠️

Looking at this movie, I had very little faith. From the outside it appears as rather silly and not something worth my time. But that wasn’t the case at all. I think the characters and outer world makes this movie so deeply interesting. Space travel is a concept I find really intriguing and when I was presented with space ships that represent old age vessels, I was struck with a pleasant surprise. I loved it. Jim was a great protagonist,…

Cine. Mucho cine.

I’ve always grew up with the teaser for Treasure Planet on the DVD of Monsters Inc as a kid and over the years I’ve seen clips of the film, but this is my first time watching the film in its entirety and I would have to say, it’s a pretty good film. Very quick to the point, thrilling, and heartwarming. And Jim Hawkins is a great Disney character. Especially the death stares! I live for that! Love his character overall!…

Okay yeah this is really good too. I honestly only watched it today bc someone said they got it mixed up with Atlantis, and I def don’t regret it. It has a similar style to Atlantis but it’s sooooo different and in a good way ofc.

Slept on. Childhood favorite and an absolute stunner in visuals for an early 2000’s animated film. Best animated film of all time.

I recommend watching the movie, reading the book, then rewatching the movie and rereading the book… and maybe just one more watch of the movie…

My favourite Disney film of all time…There is a theme of nostalgia tied to this as I have memories of watching this in dvd as a kid. Overall though the setting and world building are unique and great, the soundtrack is stellar, voice performances enjoyable and maybe the coolest thing ever made for a film in Jim’s space surfboard I mean come on, also it doesn’t overstays its welcome in a tight 90 ish minutes which flies by. All this…

Not only is this a great story, that challenges Disney beyond good and evil and into the morally grey, but it’s a visual feast. I enjoy this every watch. I don’t need to say more than that. A delight, before Disney became too predictable.

So good and I’m beyond dumbfounded it didn’t make a lot of money. I feel the same way about Atlantis though, what a shame cause the sequel for this sounded great too!! The image of Flint is so good for an alien and the aesthetic of cosmic 1800’s attire was really cool to me as a kid

The concept of personification for inanimate objects and animals in a galaxy with humans. I’d say this film is underrated, there was no treasure to be found but im glad the antagonists and protagonists made up 💗💗 silver our cyborg dad

John Silver: You got the makings of greatness in you, but you got to take the helm and chart your own course. Stick to it, no matter the squalls! I used to watch this film on VHS as a kid a lot with my brother, I have such vivid memories of sittin on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn between us while this played on our shitty old TV. This is such a beautiful film, both in terms…

This film is a beautiful thing to behold and that goes a long way with me. In the better timeline this was at least successful enough for Disney to continue pursuing big budget hybrid animation.

This was trying to be 4 or 5 different movies in one. With the exception of Jim and his mom, nearly every character is a completely different species of creature or being which was strange to me. Character departures and arrivals were very oddly woven in the plot.

The underrated Animation film that everyone should watch, the story line teaches life lessons all should know but few understand. The movie starts off like you’d expect, but quickly has you on the edge of your seat. Jimbo battles with the effect of his dad gone leaving him and his mom and has to make a decision to go on a path that he has always dreamed of, or fall victim to his own troubles. This movie showed me how…
