74 It’s odd to return to the (relative) simplicity of Transformers after The Last Knight, which was so bursting at the seams that it inadvertently caused Bumblebee to exist. In comparing the 2007 film to even the first couple sequels, this is a mild Michael Bay scrambling of a Spielbergian concept. It’s still batshit crazy – from the post-9/11 distrust of the Iraq War, the Decepticons stealing American secrets, the hilarious ‘ding-dong’ portrayal of George W. Bush with his red socks – but rooted in a calmer structure, a less toxic overview, and more traditional set-pieces. Of course, you can’t tame Michael Bay, so the military tech fetishes, racist/sexist caricatures, and often hypnotic transformers interlocking, exploding, collapsing mid-battle find their…

This was intensely every middle school boy’s wet dream back in the day. Explosions, cars, megan fox, delinquent toilet humor, army testosterone, linkin park, slow-mo, badass robots and megan fox—oh wait srry what was we talking about?

they don’t make movies like this anymore… (the cgi in this movie is so impressive you can’t even deny that + there will never be a “charming awkward underdog teenage boy” as good as shia labeouf’s sam witwicky + megan fox is so likable in this)

To the start of the series very good. Some lore is of course changed which is given but enjoyable. Megan fox is hot and not gonna lie we all were getting it off during the car repair scene. Ummm didn’t like how Jazz got go/jo but I knew it was coming. Blackout got gunned tf down. And megaton always comes back. 10/10 would goon

10. İzleyişim olmasına rağmen.

Crazy to think that VFX peaked when I was 17 and you can literally track the descent into the dull, lazy, desaturated CGI-slop of the MCU. Summer 2007 was wild with a fucking The Used needle drop into a car chase.

The summer blockbuster of summer blockbusters. Rewatched again for the first time in years and it still holds up as the greatest film in the franchise. Whatever magic rock Bay was smoking when he made this film is something that I haven’t seen replicated in a long, long time. Surprisingly most things in this movie hold up well even to this day: the effects are still stellar for it being made in 2007, the perfomances from LaBeouf, Fox, Duhamel and…
