This is a very nostalgic movie I watched countless times growing up, but it doesn’t do a lot for me as an adult. It’s fun though with good animation for the time, and I like the general toy concept plus friendship messaging. Woody’s jealousy was so real.

I haven’t watched Toy Story in a very very long time. Such a nostalgic movie, i remember watching toy story on VHS with my older brother in the early 2000’s, such great times they were. So many years later and i still remember this word for word. Easily one of the best animated films of all time.

Zo gek om te beseffen dat deze film de introductie van dit iconische verhaal is. Want als ik over Toy Story nadenk, denk ik al meteen aan het totale geheel inclusief alle bijgekomen karakters. Puur om het feit dat ik waarschijnlijk de eerste 3 na elkaar heb kunnen kijken. Terwijl dit voor vele nog maar het begin was, wachtende op meer.

This film was released when I was 13 years old and I thought it was the greatest thing at the time, now a lifetime later I watched it with my 15 year old daughter and she was super happy and very much into it and had a fantastic time. Captivating multiple generations with a timeless story and delivering jokes that still land after 30 years is something special. Toy Story is real magic.

unlike my recent rewatch of Inside Out, this is a childhood film that i think has aged a lot better then i expected. i found a lot of the jokes funnier, the adventure is always engaging and creative, and just a marvel for technological advancement. Tom Hanks performance as woody is still perfection and endlessly hilarious.

One of my hottest film takes has always been that Toy Story is very mediocre. I love 2 and 3, and even 4 is solid, but I’ve never clicked with this one. My daughter found Woody dunking his head in a cereal bowl and emerging with Cheerios stuck on his eyes hysterical (as well as the first appearance of the creepy spider baby!) and now refers to all of Toy Story as “Eyes! Funny! Buzz! Ha ha!”
