The moment when Thor gets hit with the ball is still the funniest thing in the whole MCU

It’s so crazy that Taika Waititi found the MCU passed out in a gutter and single handedly revived it, pumped it’s stomach and brought it back to full health. I can’t believe he then went on to adopt it, raise it as his own and set it out into the world to flourish as the supreme superhero universe.

40. M

    Megan 2026年8月26日

They absolutely butchered Thor’s character. It was GG1 but worse because it had been a previously grounded, Nordic legend, established character arc and world. Hela was weird at first but grew on me. Loki was amazing as always. Thor literally emerged from this movie as a totally new character but in a bad way. Also… wtf did they do to the hulk. I did like the explanation for how he’s been AWOL for so long, but he’s talking now….? And…

Biceps. Chemistry. Matt damon as loki cameo. This being a Thor version of Lego Batman. Hulk not even flinching and instantly jumping surtur. Humor. Immigrant song (and all the other song choices). Peak.

The movie is a fun time. It’s funny and has good music. But it’s not much of anything outside of that. The plot is pretty thin, and all our characters aren’t that intriguing. They’re just fine. There’s nothing that pushes anything here. And the movie kind of just doesn’t engage me because of that.

disparadamente o melhor filme e melhor uso do Thor no UCM. Saga do Infinito 17/23 Saga Marvel.

A good movie that feels a little dated, especially now that we’re in the Marvel slop era. Thor is always a fun character but I grew a little tired of just how comedy-focused this movie sometimes was. Plot also just feels forced and convenient — Odin disintegrates into thin air, Hela appears and is apparently this world-ending threat, and then she’s unceremoniously killed by Surtr, who Thor already bested in the opening 5 minutes.

Thor: Ragnarok isn’t just my favorite Thor movie, it’s also one of the most important MCU films for Thor as a character. Throughout the first two films, Thor’s relationship with Mjolnir always felt a little like: God of Thunder ❌ God of Hammers ✅. He spends so long thinking of the hammer as the source of his power that when Hela destroys it, Thor almost acts as if she destroyed a huge part of his power along with it. One…
