    This was a very solid movie, Shawn levy did a very good job with this and honestly it feels nothing like his other films he’s done it’s more serious with well timed jokes and everything coming together and working, the story had it’s emotional parts and when it needed a joke it was there and it worked the family in this felt like a real family that been together for years and not because the script said so, I’m honestly…

    A very funny and very well written comedy/drama which suprised me in ways a greatly came to appreciate. It was emotional at times, while also holding onto humor which landed essentially every time. It was a good film in regards how it portrayed a disfunctional family dynamic and was definitely worth the time.

    American actors always play familial relationships so incestuously I think it’s the combination of forced patriotism and Christian nationalism but it sure is entertaining to watch

    I’d long since suspected it, but I think I now know it to be true: I love Tina Fey. (I didn’t love this film though, which despite being literally about a family grieving the loss of its patriarch did not make this man who has just lost his father figure feel anything even remotely emotional or resonant.)

    I adored this film. so insanely layered and emotional and funny and a great portrayal of a real life family. and the cast and acting was sensational with the amazing 2000s vibes as the cherry on top.

    If you like the cast as much as I do you’ll probably end up watching this. Comedy, drama, love, loss, family and more little nuggets of comedy. Driver, being an amusing tool that I liked. Fonda being the classic Fonda we all love. Bateman being the nicest chap struggling on, no matter what is thrown at him & our Tina Fey being adorable. It’s not a classic situation for chuckles what with all that’s going on, but it made me more than smile quite a few times. A nice little film. “Go away please”

    actually so much more endearing and sweet than expected out of a silly bateman comedy. i will say took me a good twenty minutes to figure out who was related and who was dating everyone just kind of acts like that x

    heartwarming movie that squeezes in a lot of storylines, a lot of character depth and some good comedy. this cast is stacked, and on the whole pretty fantastic. rose byrne is a highlight for me as a neo manic pixie dream girl – she lights up every scene she is in. bateman delivers (as expected), schwartz is hilarious (as expected), and tina fey is also super (as expected). i wish she did more movie acting! adam driver steals the show…
