    i have very mixed feelings about it, its a little slow for me but the ending was good,, felt alot more psychological than horror by a long shot which was not what i was expecting from the trailer, (Edit) felt weirdly pro suicide after taking some time to think about the movie so i lowered it half a star. its not an easy way out and its not a promise your kids will have a better life without you..i understand…

    I would rate this “horror” movie a 3.5/5 I liked how they used this movie to talk about important topics such as depression and death, and it made me cry I admit it hahah However I wasn’t very stressed or scared during the movie and the acting was questionable but I’ve already seen way worse horror movies than this one.

    Viel besser als ich mir am Anfang gedacht hätte – vor allem bei dem Titel. Die Entscheidung, den Großteil des Films am Tag zu drehen, ist eine nice Abwechslung zu den ganzen Horrofilmen bei denen man aufgrund der Dunkelheit eh nichts sieht. Die schauspielerischen Leistungen waren auch echt strong und vor allem die Kamerarbeit hat mich besonders positiv überrascht. Trotzdem, wenn das jemals bei mir zu Hause passieren würde, werde ich die Frau in meinem Garten samt ihrem Sessel mit meinem Rick Dalton Flammenwerfer abfackeln.

    Un film d’horreur qui possède une idée de départ assez intrigante, mais qui peine malheureusement à en tirer quelque chose de vraiment marquant. Le concept de cette mystérieuse femme qui apparaît devant la maison possède pourtant un vrai potentiel, notamment grâce au sentiment d’intrusion et de menace qu’il peut créer. L’ambiance est probablement le principal point positif. La maison isolée et le jardin deviennent progressivement des espaces inquiétants, avec cette présence qui semble observer la famille depuis l’extérieur. L’idée fonctionne…

    Tease me with a small scale chamber piece, leave me with ambiguous trauma puzzle. Either of those could be interesting, but to do both feels uneven, at least in this case. Sluggishly paced as well. Not a terrible time, just another one in the incredibly vast sea of extremely mid horror movies. But I’ll give credit where it is due – the woman was in the yard.

     This movie felt so unbearably long oh my god it never ended. It was a pinch scary I’ll give it that but so all over the place and very surface level–or so it seemed! In its effort to be layered and meaningful, the film ended up being extremely convoluted and obnoxiously heavy handed with its metaphors. All I can really say is I guess bro. Annie was so adorable though she reminds me of my baby cousins.

     The beginning of this movie was slow while some sequences were she tries to stab her children but ends up cutting a pillow and parts showing how she slowly goes insane weren’t bad. The trailers and marketing was good but the overall idea was shit, the ending was the worst, they ended up fighting a giant shadow in a corner and a random lady was just chilling and tanning in the sun for half the movie and marketing and overall they had shit for instincts. I did like the mothers acting and her facial expressions reminded me of The Shining.

     I really like the premise of this one and the vibe is spot on. The small cast all do a great job. The focus is narrow and the plot has no excess fat. It has a clear message and theme and it communicates it well, even if it is a bit on the nose by the end of it. I was kind of disappointed in the way it handled the conclusion, felt a little bit too… convenient? But still, well done. I wish I had liked it more.

     Assisti com Amanda. Assisti com Isabelle também, mas ela é uma pessoa horrível. O filme é bom, tem um suspense bom, as perseguições são legais e eu realmente fiquei apreensivo vendo o filme. A cena final (aquela lá) é muito bem feita e eu realmente fiquei com uma mistura de pena, apego, tristeza e frustração vendo ela. O que eu mais queria fazer naquele momento era abraçar aquela mulher e falar que vai ficar tudo bem

     yup trash. Honestly I’m a bit tired of the “it’s all just a metaphor for grief/depression/whatever” trope. The trope hasn’t ever been that interesting and has only really worked a few times. This wasnt one of them

     Being a Black, mentally ill woman experiencing some of the most grief I’ve ever had in life when I watched this… Maybe I was too close to it. But I loved this movie. It perfectly made me feel seen and it helped me with my own grief.
