Not to be hyperbolic but probably in the top 3 shark movies ever. Jaume Collet-Serra one of our best (arguably most vital) directors working today, keeping the mid-level budget movie alive.

That shark had a big ass whale buffet in front of it, but still chose to play hide and seek and hunt with a girl with 9% body fat.

Summary: Blake Lively runs/swims around looking cute while being her own hero. I will never claim that this movie is realistic or even good. But I love this movie anyway and will continue to rewatch it.

I really enjoyed this one. Good looking movie with just a touch of found footage worked well into the story. Positive upbeat opening instead of people bitching and doing something depressing like an assignment. Just a lot of nice story touches. Also shots and editing for action packed including heroic actions by the main character. Every squishy squishy cool move doesn’t have to be from the shark! A Little closer to nature — a touch closer to call of the wild than supernatural (until maybe the very end). Well done.

This is so good! it was really one of the best shark movies I have watched today. It was so cool, and also ferociously. I love how she handled it herself, and she is so brave and yes. This movie is really good and worth it watch! 🦈

This is a shark film and a movie of blake lively being gorgeous in a swimsuit as she’s trying to survive being tortured on a rock by a shark. It doesn’t make any sense from anything in reality and you have to shut off your brain one hundred percent, and just let it take you. This movie feels very much like what 57 meters down was trying to be, but accomplished it much more succinctly.

13/30 Netflix bitrates are horrific. This looked terrible. Streaming artifacts everywhere. There were times you couldn’t make out what was happening on screen. A disc doesn’t do that. Have wanted to watch this for a decade now. I remember it coming out the summer after I graduated high school and thinking it looked like fun. Just haven’t gotten around to it until now. I also remember the Blu-ray coming out during my first semester of college and wanting to buy…

The only thing thats worst than watching Ryan Reynolds talk about being buried alive while sruxk in a coffin for 90 minutes is watching this one woman show of Blake Lively stuck on a rock for an entire movie. I would have enjoyed seeing her get eaten by the shark. Her hands and feet are too big.

I had forgotten I’d seen this one a decade ago, but decided to leave it on while I dinked around. Injured seagull Steven was easily my favorite character this go-around. Wish the shark had shown some of that metal-eating tenacity it brought to the climax a little earlier in the film.

View Count: 1 Rating: 7.5/10 A solid shark film that really seems to know how to pace things out, build on the suspense, and edit things effectively in a way I could never quite predict when the shark would first appear. It constantly persuades me to believe something could happen even in the predatory idea when its human-human interaction, and even when I could assume the moments when nothing would happen, I still like the effect where the editors/writers knew…

OK enough shark movie that I thought I would enjoy more than I did. The movie looks great, and Blake Lively is a more than capable lead, I just thought the writing was pretty bad at spots. Even the shark action is not as good as some of the other movies in the genre. Not good, not bad, just ok.
