    the message represented within this story is such an important one for people to understand. many species have and continue to go extinct because of the human race, and only our actions can save them. the movie represents two types of people- the protectors and the destroyers of the endangered borrowers. as an audience we naturally grow to hate the destroyers (haru) because we form a bond with protagonists. subconsciously, the audience goes against what they typically would act on.…

    The concept was pretty cool: tiny humans who have to survive by stealing whatever they can find in the humans’ house without being seen. but it’s more than that. It shows that you have to see the world from a much smaller perspective. It’s a lovely little film, very enjoyable, relaxing, and the shots are great. Studio Ghibli Ranked

    such a sweet little film! i love how tiny and magical everything feels, like the most ordinary parts of a house have suddenly become this huge adventure. arrietty is such a lovely character too — brave, curious and determined to see the world beyond her little home. also being tiny looks fun until you remember that literally everything in your house is now trying to kill you 😭

    This movie was hard for me to get into, I’ve been watching this movie since last year and the start was kind of boring to me so I kept putting it off. But the ending ended up being sweet so I did enjoy it, but I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite studio ghibli movie, so if you like fantasy kind of movies/fairytails then i recommend this one.

     unfortunately the most unspectacular ghibli movie i’ve watched so far. nearly everything that i appreciate about ghibli movies (breathing characters, magical feeling) i was desperate to find here. i could predict the whole movie within a few mins and was still shocked by how thin the storyline turned out to be in the end. it was a cute watch but i’d rewatch any ghibli movie instead of this one.
