one of the best comic book movies because it refuses to let the audience feel like they’re in a fantasy – aside from the stark aesthetic and bizarre premise, it barely seems like a comic – even when the punisher is riding a motorcycle through the sewers or coney island, the dark and fog and angst make it feel brutal instead of goofy. the yakuza is stylish but utterly deranged, louis gossett jr gives a sad & broken performance that deserves a less ridiculous movie, the comic relief is a washed up alcoholic, dolph lundgren looks close to death even when he’s delivering his perversely funny one-liners. it’s undeniably fun to watch, and imo a movie this violent yet enjoyable should…

Frank Castle lives in a sewer lair like a Ninja Turtle, fights scuba ninjas (also like a Ninja Turtle), mumbles like Dolph Lundgren, battles the Yakuza in an old timey amusement park (where dozens of bad guys simultaneously ride one of those big slides while firing machine guns), and in one scene after Frank blows up a mobster’s house a journalist screams “Holy shit, it’s the Punisher!” What I’m saying is, I think this is the best movie about the Punisher?

The perfect anti-gambling message. An epic bus chase that makes Speed look like Slow. A dancing geisha. An exploding elevator. Iron Eagle’s determination. Poetic justice. Dolph kicks so much ass. His one-liners are top-notch. R-rated and gritty. Low-down and dirty. The way all comics should be adapted for the big screen.

Beklediğim kadar kötü değildi. Kamera açıları ve çekimler modern duruyordu, 89 filmi gibi değildi. Ama kalite ve ses hâliyle berbat. Yine kendi yargı sistemiyle suçlu bulduğu kişileri öldüren bir Frank var ama bu sefer polisle iş birliği içinde. Değişik olan bu çünkü şu ana kadar Frank’le ilgili izlediğimiz şeylerde polis frank’i arıyordu. Bazı şeyler mantıksız, makyajlar dönemine göre iyi, benim dönemime göre bok. English part below Man könnte meinen, dass die eher einseitige Figur des Punishers wenig künstlerischen Freiraum zulässt, aber jede Verfilmung hat seine eigenen gutenVersatzstücke. Klar kann man hier jetzt rumheulen, dass man gerne mehr Sachen aus der Vorlage hatte sehen wollen. Seine eigene Suppe schmeckt aber auch vorzüglich. Allein wenn er das Spielkasino zerlegt, feinste Ware. Rustikal, dreckig, brutal, ohne dabei nihilistisch zu werden. Das ist einfach ein wunderbar rauhbeiniges Rachebrett, der kein Problem damit hat Klischees zu bedienen. Und…

Rambo and Terminator combined, played by Draco. I mean, who sent him like actually, Batman? Battinson is surely looked like Lundgren btw. The scene on the cell, Berkowitz telling Frank to let him in, that’s real.

Enfaîte Frank c’est Edmond Dantès chez Marvel !!! Et oui après 2 semaines de vacances, je suis de retour pour vous jouer un mauvais tour (pour la réf) et quoi de mieux pour revenir en force que de regarder un Marvel à l’ancienne à savoir le Punisher de 89 et au final c’était pas ça… J’avoue que le choix d’acteur était brillant car on le connaît surtout pour son interprétation de Ivan Drago mais même s’il joue un excellent Frank…

I’m suprised at how little we see the punisher in this. I couldn’t get a good grasp on what his personality is supposted to be like or his backstory or anything at all really. A movie with bad acting, bad effects, horrible fights that take up 90% of the film, a non-existent plot that explains nothing about the events or the complexity of Frank Castle; you really can’t get an idea about him and his motivations, he’s barely seen tormented by memories once, I feel completely disappointed.

I think this movie is funny more than anything. The scene with the pizza guy was my favorite. He was so happy to announce the pizza was here then he got his ass beat. Ps. Watched this with auto captions on and instead of it saying “I still talk to god sometimes” it said I still talk to guys sometimes and that was hilarious.

wait i actually really liked this lot of good stuff in here, very true to the character i heard some complaints before watching but i honestly really liked Dolph Lundgren’s dead-eyed, expressionless, soulless portrayal of Frank Castle, i feel like thats what he’d really be like only thing that wouldve really helped is if they kept the skull logo

🎬《雷弓彈》 ☆漫威角色「制裁者」（The Punisher aka Frank Castle）的首部真人版電影，不像近年多數漫威電影的闔家歡風格，頗1980s的暴力黑暗動作B級片。雖然感覺可以更深入挖掘主人翁的故事與內心世界，但現有的成品仍然妙趣橫生。血肉橫飛與爆破轟炸，再穿插些許冷幽默，很久沒看漫威電影、也沒看近年「制裁者」改編作的路人如我覺得不錯看。有影評將（諾蘭的）蝙蝠俠與這部的制裁者類比，個人覺得很貼切。（台詞還真的有提到蝙蝠俠，哈哈！） ☆雖然主角的造型與漫威原作設定有差異，但本片的Dolph Lundgren實在帥慘，黑髮皮衣、身手不凡的陰鬱反英雄很適合他，膚淺如我給過。 ☆制裁者的巢穴在下水道，除了強化主角的陰鬱與疏離性格，也頗有英雄重生之旅常見的地宮心路探索歷程既視感。 ☆種族與性別再現意外有趣。愛死冷酷沉著、把眾黑道玩弄於手掌心，一度把制裁者虐慘慘的田中女士。和警探Berkowitz合作的Samantha也尚可，可惜戲份不多，要不然可以成為《沉默的羔羊》Clarice Starling那型的角色。 ☆制裁者與黑幫反派Gianni Franco之間的複雜角力寫得不錯。Franco害制裁者家破人亡，但面對無辜的孩子遭到綁架，一方願意為了摯愛的家人，低聲下氣請求協助；一方則沒有被復仇欲泯滅良心，選擇暫時放下仇恨拯救弱者。尾聲Franco在目的達到後，立刻翻臉不認帳的作為同樣沒有破壞人設。（Tommy感覺是個有正義感的好孩子，希望長大不要重蹈父親的覆轍。） ☆如果電影於現在上映，警探Jake Berkowitz與制裁者一定有很多人寫同人本本，兩位的互動太有遐想空間啦！昔日的同遼、好友與今日的立場對立，窮追不捨是為了當年的愛才之情。青年曾經無意間救贖厭世的他，所以更不能讓如今頹喪的青年墜入地獄。Berkowitz 的搭檔Samantha甚至對制裁者說「你就是他（Berkowitz）的生命」……唉呦想想就好有張力喔！雖然兩位主演滿直的，但沒關係不妨礙我腦補。

Tem bastante cara de ação dos anos 80, Dolph Lundgren combina fisicamente com o Frank Castle e o filme tem uma atmosfera mais suja e urbana. Por outro lado, é uma adaptação bem livre dos quadrinhos, com roteiro simples e algumas escolhas que envelheceram bastante. Funciona melhor como filme de ação daquela época do que como uma adaptação definitiva do Justiceiro.

Começo sólido porém o filme arrasta-se com demasiada “construção” de plot que não se sente útil. É um filme de ação dos anos 80, puro e duro. Protagonista imortal, ação cheia de explosões e tiros e a dinamica do policia “cão e gato”, apesar de aqui o personagem do policia não ter qualquer importância a não ser dar uma camada emocional ao filme, que não se faz sentir. Para além do mais isto é só Punisher de nome. Podemos chamar…

This movie isnt very good. Its fun at times but painfully frustrating or boring at others. Dolph does a bipolar performance where he sometimes feels like a good punisher and sometimes feels like he is a weak one. The tone of the movie does not fit at all. Villains were subpar except Franco. It feels very dated and like it released in the 70s not 89′

A fun action movie with a very emotional punisher twist to it. It does NOT feel like a superhero movie at all and it puts a lot of time into making Frank into this broken depressed shattered man that very much surprised me. I went into this think oh Big City Ranbo with a Daredevil cameo but no it was a surprising amount more than that and I think thats cool

This movie gets so close to like competent B-movie action but the editing is so sloppy that it becomes very incoherent. That being said, the music is insane and if you love garbage it’s great.

I wasn’t expecting a good punisher movie, but I thought maybe it would be a good B action movie. It was not? The most distracting thing was that the actor that played the bad guy was the same actor who played Charles Nichols in the fugitive The Voice is unmistakable but all I could think of was that John Mulaney bit about the fugitive
