I had so much fun! It’s not without its flaws – I was especially let down by the villain – but Brie, Teyonah, and Iman are perfect together. There are two sequences in particular I loved that the haters are gonna HATE. The same dudes who cried about Megan Thee Stallion’s two-second She-Hulk cameo are gonna act like little bitches about this. FUCK ‘EM. I know people are worried about “homework” and while I think watching Ms. Marvel will 100% enhance the experience, you’ll still be able to follow along. Secret Invasion doesn’t matter at all, which is honestly hilarious. They dropped the ball so hard on that one. The end scene made me scream but the mid-credits scene made me SCREAM. I have faith in the future. SEE THIS IN THEATRES! DON’T LET THE LADIES FLOP! EDIT: I saw it again.

A

If I had a 8 year old niece this would be the movie I’d play her. I really didn’t like this movie at all. I liked the scenes with nick fury and goose but other than that this was a downgrade from the first captain marvel movie. This movie felt very tacky and ridiculous at times. I’m just glad it was a short movie.

I don’t understand the hate, it was a fun movie. But it did feel like the movie could’ve been better if it were allowed to breathe in the edit, and if it had lesser exposition dumps. Iman Vellani is the highlight!

It’s not bad, just really forgettable. I actually liked the characters, but the whole thing feels way cheaper than most Marvel movies. Also, the movie ended and I genuinely couldn’t remember who the villain was.

I really liked the dynamic between the Monica, Carol, and Kamala. I thought they all really played well off of each other and also enjoyed Samuel L Jackson whenever he’d be inserted into the story. If I had any criticisms for the movie I’d say it fell into a trap that alot of marvel movies fall into and that is that the villain just felt kind of like nothing. The film struggled to make me care about the conflict between the marvels and the villain but it was still a good time nonetheless.

They really deserve better than this, not a great script at all, choices I don’t like and a villain that I know basically nothing about bar a 15 second scene. The leads have great chemistry and that is fun to watch but other than that it really leaves nothing else to be desired. Required watching even though marvel didn’t add it to that list for Doomsday which is crazy considering how it ends.

The action scenes were a blast! The film really enhanced whenever the heroes were having all in one scene. The villain was… yeah. Nick Fury was also good. My favourite part was probably when Kamala & Monica were falling and they last-minute teleported with Danvers and we had a quick shot of Fury saying, “Oh, it’s just Carol.” Were Danvers and Valkyrie dating? I mean, Carol just exudes gay energy wherever she goes, but I wasn’t imagining it here, right? Iman Vellani was especially wonderful! She has charisma and charm. I hope to see her in more things, hopefully outside of the MCU!

The Marvels was way more fun than I expected. It’s definitely not perfect, but I had a really good time with it. It felt nice to have a fun, lighter MCU movie again tonally with big potato threats, and honestly, Kamala Khan is just the best. Protect her at all costs, Marvel. I’m deadly serious. “Stop running and let the kittens eat you. You will be fine.”

Have you ever heard of that experiment where people were locked in a room with nothing but a self-shocking device, and the almost all the test subjects would eventually willingly use the shocking device on themselves just to feel something? That’s how I felt watching this movie, where my shocking device was Kamala Khan. Yes, she’s kind of annoying, but her and her dumb family were the only things in this movie that stopped me from withering away from boredom entirely. It’s like watching Star Wars and begging for Jar Jar Binks to come back on screen just so you can feel anything at all.

Not offensively bad, but just lacking purpose. Might be the most forgettable plot of the entire MCU. Short enough that the pacing has it moving quickly, so it never drags. Over-the-top goofiness is littered throughout, and it kinda hijacks the momentum that it struggles to build as it is. Captain Marvel is a cool character, but Ms. Marvel just isn’t very enjoyable, at least at this stage. Bottom rung of the MCU, but mainly for its blandness.

Surprisingly funny and enjoyable. The cats scene is just amazing. Major props to whoever came up with that and managed to get it approved. Kamala Khan’s definitely one of their better new characters even though I didn’t like the tv show when it came out. Interesting ending and post credit scene. It’s a shame this one’s thrown under the rug to never be seen again basically. I hope there’s a continuation of this in Doomsday.

As soon as the villain (which might be the MCU’s worst yet) appears or the film wants to be a bit more serious it’s not working.
