   If the first was about parenting and the split between generations – this one is about siblings and sharing. It makes fun of dark sequels with brooding hero’s. Cinebros, plot holes, kid brainwashing. And somehow Lord/Miller outdid their previous closing credits with this one. Can’t wait for their toy story 3

   feels deeply uninspired from the very beginning, and doesn’t match the creativity or wit of the first one until the closing credits. Doubling on Chris Pratt – the worst part of anything – may not have been the best idea.

   there’s something so cathartic about the lego style and sounds and these movies are so hilariously well written that i almost feel like a kid again. this is the most joyous movie experience i’ve had in months a few various thoughts: 1. during one scene i was legitimately thinking, “does this sad monologue in the lego movie 2: the second part Actually have me drawing comparisons to the hopeless feeling of america under the trump administration? never imagined i would be thinking this but i sure did 2. tiffany haddish NEEDS a record deal 3. “catchy song” is such a simplistically brilliant concept and so well made to fulfill it’s exact purpose. i unironically love this song. i can say that and i should be allowed to say that

   I have a LEGO brick tattoo. Even if this movie did have 3 seconds of Batman flossing, it’s gonna take a lot for me not to really like these movies. (Also maybe the best end credits sequence I’ve ever seen)

    Certainly not as good as the first one, but to be fair, that came completely out of left field, with _The Second Part_ there was actually some degree of expectation. Very much a kids’ film, but there’s still a little bit of that broader appeal and deeper meaning that was found in the first one. Amazing from what amounts to a 107 minute ad for branded plastic blocks.

    _Final rating:★★★ – I liked it. Would personally recommend you give it a go._
