Absolutely the best miniseries I have ever seen. Possibly the best miniseries ever made and yes I am absolutely serious. Everything in this was the best choice. The whole thing continuously impressed me, but that ending to episode 5 slapped my ass right across the room. Across the goddamn room. The entirety of episode 6 should and will be examined in film schools from here on. Episode 10 gave me so many intense feelings including some that I usually don’t willingly embrace but did so completely because I was so invested in everything happening onscreen. Mike Flanagan, you can just go ahead and have a sat down at the table with the rest of the horror legends because you have earned that shit.

Absolutely outstanding. Top-tier television. Hereditary for people who’ve been to therapy. A beautiful exploration of grief and regret and trauma both original and generational. Ghosts as a metaphor for all these things feels like such an obvious decision, but Flanagan really weaves it together in a way that makes it all fall together like the most satisfying puzzle. Made me feel like I really want to watch everything he’s done so far. A big congratulations to Red Giant on this season-long advertisement for the Magic Bullet Mojo plug-in! Impeccably written piece of television. Devastatingly sad and almost unbearably heavy, this series only gets better on the second watch when all of the countless little details fall into their place. “The Haunting of Hill House” is one of the greatest horror achivements ever, yet the real horror of it all is just the pain (and joy) of being human and alive.

I feel I rewatch Hill House, Bly Manor, and Midnight Mass at least once a year at this point. I have a lot of love for these shows. holy shit. this is one of the GREATEST shows i’ve ever watched. i truly don’t say that lightly. the horror…the suspense…perfect. however..didn’t expect to be hit in the fucking heart from the last episode. grief and trauma sure does do a number on your brain and this show does a great job at depicting that. ESPECIALLY when you share that trauma with your siblings; they all remember things differently or not at all.

I saw it a few years ago, and this is already the third time I’ve watched it. It’s one of the best suspense series I’ve ever seen. They know how to hook you so you keep watching despite the “fear” becouse everything is so well done.
