100 “Are you thinking about graduate school?” Listen, I’m not saying the moment where Benjamin and Elaine are speeding down a hellish, pitch-black freeway and screaming about their fears and doubts of the future is still relatable fifty fucking two years later, but it is.

Almost forgot to post this but I recently rewatched this for my podcast and you can listen to my full thoughts here. I was worried this wouldn’t hold up on a rewatch but it really does. Feels like the first time again every time I watch it. The cinematography is so beautiful, spaces are either too big or too small for Benjamin. Just wanted more Mrs. Robinson. And more than just just three Simon and Garfunkel songs that play over and over again. We get it, you’re going to Scarborough Fair.

Enjoyable and great film. I think the film does kind of ask a great question as Ben/Hoffman has finished college and now is wondering what to with his life and is constantly getting pressured by other people around him and never really could get what he truly wanted which was Love. The soundtrack was really good but sometimes it pissed me off when it played the same song for the 5th time in 20 mins. The cinematography was well framed…

    1. greattttt soundtrack. 2. Elaine you’re not that stupid. 3. And Ben, when you don’t what to do in life, don’t get married? 4. The Scene after leaving Mrs. Robinson house, and then the song goes “mrs. robinson” that’s just perfect. 5. The type of movie that made you realized that men are just men. 6. “shake hands” ??? thanks for the amazing analogy ben. 7. and the scuba vision scene. perfect.

A beautifully shot comedy which isn’t particularly but far more poignant and hits incredibly well at that feeling of being lost and how terrifying your future can be.

What if ‘my steak too juicy my lobster too buttery’ happened to the most annoying person in the universe? Beautiful shots, beautiful people, beautiful clothes, incredibly beautiful soundtrack. Wild plot. Dustin Hoffman pissed me off so much. But at a certain point you just go with it.

Stay away from her. Get a job. Despite wanting to reach through the screen and beat Ben to death with a hammer every time he complained about his steak being too juicy and lobster too buttery, I did have a pretty good time. And yes, it was impossible for me to not think about Wayne’s World 2 the entire ending.

This movie is great. I had heard very good things coming into it and it met and exceeded expectations. Despite having many elements that are very much of the 60’s, so much of the struggles and conflict are very relevant to this day. To get the technical stuff out of the way, I loved so many of the shots in this movie. The scuba shot was so creative and unlike anything before or since that I am aware of. The…
