My father died when I was very young, so I have no real memories of him. Today, while dropping off my kids at my mum for a sleepover, I found a box full of them. My mum was clearing out the attic and had set aside a box with pictures of my dad when he was younger. I was shocked by the sharp sting of missed opportunities and absent memories that washed over me. When I got home, that feeling still lingering in the back of my mind, I turned on the TV and the first thing I saw were the opening credits of the Goonies. Sometimes the universe gets me and lends a helping hand.

The Goonies is both a staple and an embodiment of childhood. It’s got penis jokes, treasure maps, evil henchmen, secret passages, young Josh Brolin, an organ made out of bones, vampire bats, waterfalls, a pirate ship, booby traps, young romance, and the enduring bond of friendship. Enough said.

Don’t know why it took me so long to get round to watching this! The 80s vibes, soundtrack were the highlight for me. Lovely feel good film which is a good watch around the summer time – reminiscent of adventures I had with my primary school mates

My love for this movie is indescribable. It’s the ultimate feel-good movie that really tugs at my heartstrings. I’ll always be a Gonnie Meine Liebe zu diesen film ist unbeschreiblich. Absoluter feel good film der bei mir die richtigen nostalgischen knöpfe drückt. Ich werde für immer ein Gonnie sein.

Esattamente quello che ti aspetti da questa pellicola: una commedia slapstick calcata, talvolta fin troppo surreale, in pieno stile anni ottanta, con dinamiche preadolescenziali che hanno ispirato tutta la wave nostalgica contemporanea. Qui però c’è il signor Spielberg alla regia, il cui genio visivo è palpabile in ogni inquadratura e movimento di macchina. Un film vibrante, che purtroppo talvolta fa di tutto per interrompere la sospensione dell’incredulità dello spettatore, tra candele che bruciano da trecento anni e archi narrativi che si sforzano di chiudersi quando non sono mai stati aperti. Tutto sommato, però, I Goonies risulta una commedia ispirata e godibile dall’inizio alla fine.

This is one of my all-time favorites!!!! This is one of those comfort movies I could throw on anytime and immediately be happy. As a kid, this movie made me want to go on adventures, find hidden treasure, and get into some trouble with my friends 😂 Great cast. Great story. Just pure fun from beginning to end. It’s got that childhood magic that never really gets old. GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE!!! Now excuse me while I hit the Truffle Shuffle.

haven’t eaten a baby ruth in like 15 years lol they’re better than i remember and always fun to have a matchy treat! “The Goonies” is the pinnacle of summer camp/sleepover movie canon (case in point: i watched this movie on vhs at summer camp, without which i am nearly certain i would have never seen it otherwise— that’s americana, baby!) perfect season to watch it, catch a bunch of fun easter eggs thanks to movie bingo, and with a crowd of both nostalgia-watchers and kids experiencing 80s treasure hunt hijinks for the first time!

Another round of B movie bingo with the NWA Film Club! I personally didn’t participate in the bingo because with this being my first time watch, I wanted to pay full attention and not multitask! Super cute and fun Kid Power movie with a few outdated/weird bits, I would’ve ate this shit up as a kid though and I probably would’ve loved it well into my adulthood. Just watching it for the first time with a special group of people…

That movie was phenomal! I really like movies abt a group of friends who go on unforgettable adventures, especially where they like to find themselves, not only treasure, etc. This one was like that. Sloth and Chunk my babies! I Adore them sm.❤️❤️❤️ Overall, if u searching for a good movie the one that will stay in your memory for a long time, that’s him.
