One perfect moment: When Michael and Kay discover Vito’s been shot, his immediate reaction is to race to a phone booth and call home to check on his father. Until this point in the movie, Michael insists he wants no part of his father’s business. But when he reads the newspaper headlines about the assassination attempt, something changes in his face. And then he goes to the phone booth and slams the door on Kay so she can’t overhear the conversation, echoing the way The Godfather conducted his business in his private study while the rest of the family remained oblivious at the wedding outside, and foreshadowing the final shot of the film.

Just a masterpiece. I really couldn’t realise that it was made more than 50 years ago. Al Pacino’s acting>> How he played just was perfect. This role was made for him.

I was reading the book too and the funniest thing is, Michael really went from “I’m staying out of this” to “Alright, kill them” with basically zero hesitation. The joke like people change described him so much. 10/10 family drama, would NOT recommend this family at thanksgiving.

Enjoyed the pacing and how hard-hitting it made some of the content. No surprise that so many other movies, tv shows and video games (looking at you Mafia series) have taken such inspiration from this film.

I know I know this is one of the most famous influential films. But I found it boring and slow. Very very sloooow. The first half I was so concentrated on the way it was edited and I’m not even a filmmaker I think because it is an old film I just didn’t get on with it to much. It’s a bunch of men doing their business. Mafia is interesting and that but. Typical the good child takes over becomes…

First of all, the aura 🚬🚬 I love how the don is with the kitty at first. The kitty loves him so much 😭 I was distracted by watching him with the cat, which brought me to the conclusion that he is a nice man. Better than his friends I guess. I loved how honest he was with his work, didn’t get involved in the works he didn’t want to no matter how much the price there was, and it…

This was the first Al Pacino film I ever saw, and he has been a favorite of mine ever since. *The Godfather* is a film that encompasses everything—romance, drama, thrills, and the gangster genre.Al Pacino as Michel Corleone is a film about a character named Chilo, who is the oldest in the film? The first scene is the last scene, but the similarity is so similar to His father was the original Godfather, but Michael didn’t support that role; however, a major turning point in his life—specifically the death of his first wife—transformed him, and he eventually became the Godfather.

Holy crap i know it sounds like a cliche but i’m speechless, the scenes leading up to THAT scene with Sollozo is the greatest example of building tension in film EVER. Upon rewatch, I realized how gripping the first 30 minutes are at the wedding. I used to think it was slow [because no killing] but it’s such a perfect introduction to Vito and the rest of the cast. His authority and power are felt without him even saying much. Also, Duvall is my favorite “guy” in this whole film. Every time he’s on screen, I’m like “there’s my guy!”

I upgraded my rating because I decided the sexism makes this movie better bc otherwise Michael Corleone would be too cool. Like actually he’s vile they’re all vile but I get kinda desensitized to all the gun violence

I don’t know why I didn’t give the film a higher rating. I gave it only 3 stars, perhaps because it was my first time watching it. And although it wasn’t a film I completely enjoyed, there is one thing I’m certain of: Marlon Brando’s performance as Vito Corleone was truly legendary and extraordinary. There is no doubt that he deserved the Oscar for this role. A performance like this will never be repeated. His presence, charisma, and way of…

Yeah man what can I fucking say Y’all were right, this movie’s damn good. Not the “perfect movie.” So both Peter and Lois are wrong in that scene where they’re about to drown. But I really likes the story. The conflict, the characters, the subversions and plot twists. Admittedly it’s a few months after seeing this movie so I’m not gonna be the most succinct with my thoughts, it’s hard to scour my memories for exact points, especially with it…

Thinking about having a Michael Corleone fall. You know, catch a few bodies, hide out in Sicily, fall in love with a baddie who doesn’t speak my language, nearly evade death and come home to entirely way too much responsibility. I mean the delta flights kinda cheap right now, let’s workshop this. The Godfather is about watching a man turn into his worst nightmare. Early in the story, we see Michael get assaulted by the police and his pure, pretty…

It’s not until the cop punches Michael that he develops the classic Al Pacino voice. It’s incredible. Has Al Pacino been acting with a broken jaw for 50 years? Michael outwits the five families because he’s willing to do what nobody expects. When he moves Vito’s hospital bed, we see Michael the soldier, showing us he can outmaneuvers with lateral thinking. Indirect violence. Something his brothers couldn’t do. Not saying anything new but this balances narrative thrust and vibe so well.…

A great movie but not what like people say. The idea is like an average Italian mafia movie with the six families and that, But the characters is what made the movie so much better not the plot. I’m hyped for the second one I think it will be a better movie than the first one.

What can be said about the Godfather 50+ years later that hasn’t been said. Its the sole reason why the entire Gangster genre got that big and it deserves to be praised. The movie manages to perfectly immerse you into the world of the Mafia. You see the power stuggles, the violence, the loss and you experience the tribe like way in which Families operate with all the ways they act. In 2026 many of thing that the Godfather did…
