I wasn’t planning to rewatch this one at first, but then I realized I hadn’t written anything about it, so I figured we needed a review. This film brings Guy Ritchie back, after a very long period, to the place where he belongs and where his style feels most authentic. The editing is the same, the dynamic camera is there, as are the characters, the dialogue, and the fragmented storytelling. And once again, the film is about a conflict between

My theory is that Guy Ritchie said something racist at Christmas dinner 2017, and his niece called him out on it. Then, in an attempt to spite her, he added a bunch of racist stuff to the screenplay he was working on.

you’re really only going to have one woman in your movie and her only purpose is to be threatened with sexual assault so that the main male character can angst over that? and we never see her deal with what happened because she is not a person to this movie, she is a tool that can be used against mickey. we see HIM deal with her trauma but we never see her again because she doesn’t matter to this story and i am so fucking sick of seeing this happen in movies constantly. I honestly didn’t enjoy watching any of this it made me really angry.

Every time I watch this movie, I fucking love it just as much as the first time. It’s such a damn good gangster movie. I’ve never really been that into British gangster movies, but this one is definitely an exception because I fucking love everything about it. The movie itself, the soundtrack, the performances, the way it’s shot… everything just works. Guy Ritchie really fucking cooked with this one. And Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Pearson? That dude is the fucking…

Fun watch the costume and set design of british poshness makes for a pleasing look to the movie however i think that with the plot of the movie there was too much predictability which caused a little lack of interest. Also as a side note how tf did the toddlers know that matthew was going to be kidnapped at the end?

“MY WIFE!” I loved it, it was fantastic. Very strong values: loyalty, good manners. It’s one of the best gangster movies I’ve ever seen—fun, enjoyable, and funny. Fletcher and Ray have carried the entire weight of the film.

Should have come with an emetophobia warning because my feelings about this film really soured after that. One female character in the whole film who’s purpose was to be sexually assaulted to anger the main character, amazing job once again male writers.

Some interesting sequences set to inspired musical choices can’t save this one. Really cringe. No idea what they were thinking either the unreliable narrator they went with. Really felt like a first draft that never got touched up. My bro put this on after being flooded with youtube shorts for it, and honestly i can’t think of a more perfect intro to it than that. This made me more ashamed to be a pothead than any PSA I’ve seen. RATING: Embarrassing idea of “Justice”
