The story is very predictable and feel good. You can tell they are trying to say something here about big corps. Ironically I like the bots personalities more than the humans. Ultimately it falls flat as it plays a very safe narrative game. Just watch Ready Player One. It’s the same message but better.

The book is definitely a slow burn, but it portrays a reality so frightening because it’s not entirely unbelievable.Think about when you see people walking around, glued to their phone screens, or children sat in pushchairs – having access to the whole world but given a screen instead. The film is a fast paced, full cast rendition that loses the atmosphere and loneliness of the book. Plus, you can enjoy the story as it should be told with the additional bonus of no Pratt.

I really enjoyed this movie and the message of it. It was probably the best movie I’ve seen about the dangers of technology (bonus points for not being edgy or shot like a Christopher Nolan film). I really loved Millie and Chris as the leads and thought they did great. But in truth, everyone did great and the unsung crew heroes made this all happen.

Just rewatched this film. Overall a pretty over-hated film, but it depends on who you are. If you liked the novel, I would not recommend this film. It did not do a great job at capturing the atmosphere of the novel, with it being not as dark as its source material. However if you have never read the novel, I highly recommend this film, as it is a great science fiction, distopian film with lots of emotion, aside from the script, where some lines can feel a bit forced.

This is a prime example of a movie you’ve been eagerly waiting to watch, only for it to arrive and completely shatter your heart into pieces. For a big-budget movie, this is a big-time flop. It feels like yet another movie with huge potential that was tragically ruined by creative disasters. The editing is so poor that I can’t help but start Googling who the perpetrator is midway through the movie! The movie feels stiff and lifeless as a whole. Couldn’t even bear to watch past the first 10 minutes. Disaster.
