    This was insane the whole way through. I didn’t even think I could write a review on this. Every time I thought someone was going to get a break something else happened. The acting was incredible, the writing was good, the twists and narration were also amazing. It’s a very confronting movie.

    Great story, great acting. I feel like stories this bleak and grounded in reality are best experienced through a novel, where they have room to breathe, along with the audience. It didn’t take me very long to understand what type of movie this would be, and what its goal was because of its nature, and I believe the story deserves more of a chance to be appreciated than that. that’s just a price the on screen format has to pay.

    compared to the book, there were definitely some deviations. some of which were important, some not so much. overall though, the movie did a good job and i enjoyed my time with it

    Missed opportunity. It’s just bleak for the sake of it and feels like a collage of different stories that could have been good on their own if fleshed out further but instead make this a bit of a mess that doesnt build up to anything satisfying. Robert Pattinson has some banger moments though.

    Esta película es una de mis favoritas la he visto como 5 veces ya. Está súper infravalorada, me encanta como refleja el otro lado de la religión y el trauma q está puede dejar o incluso religión phyxosis (que honestamente para mí ese término es redundante 🙂‍↕️) llore como tres veces AJAJAKKAKAKAK, hay opiniones dividas sobre esta película. El cast es tremendo y me encanta que todo está conectado, refleja tmb las consecuencias de tus actos o como los actos de los demás te afecta indirectamente o directamente. Absolute cinema

    Não entendo por que algumas pessoas não gostaram desse filme… Eu gostei do começo ao fim. A forma como a história é contada por meio de vários ângulos e acontecimentos que ocorrem separadamente, porém chegando juntos à conclusão do filme, é algo que realmente te prende. A demonstração de como funciona a mente de cada pessoa, reagindo aos problemas da vida, também foi intrigante de assistir. Cada personagem tinha seu motivo particular, embora em muitos casos fossem extremos e sem sentido algum. Nota: 3.8

    This cast is interesting considering the midwestern/southern setting. I understand that this is based on a book, but I don’t think it was necessary for as much narration as there was. I feel like it spells things out too much idk. I did enjoy this though. I loved Carl and Sandy. Hot.

    tom Holland y robert Pattinson se cargan la película al hombro en un ambiente tan denso y sofocante que te dan ganas de bañarte al terminar. el ritmo decae un poco por querer abarcar demasiadas historias cruzadas a la vez, pero esa atmósfera de fanatismo religioso y miseria humana está increíblemente bien lograda. no es para todo el mundo porque no te da ni un solo segundo de respiro, pero como thriller turbio e incómodo funciona de maravilla. básicamente dos horas y media de gente en un pueblo persignándose mientras comete los peores pecados posibles.
