Not as bad as it’s reputation suggests, although, yes, the constant talk of chems is dumb. And gosh, it’s nuts that they had Oscar Isaac right there and went with Renner instead. Still, plenty to dig here. The lab shooting scene is genuinely unnerving. Also, I somehow completely forgot Edward Norton was in this.

Lacking the stylistic visual flair, kinetic action, charged atmosphere, sense of urgency, hyperactive camerawork, cut-throat editing & almost everything that made The Bourne Trilogy an intensely entertaining ride of non-stop thrills, The Bourne Legacy is an uninspiring & unnecessary fourth chapter that’s quite inferior to its predecessors in every department of filmmaking. Taking place concurrently with the events of The Bourne Ultimatum, the story of The Bourne Legacy concerns Aaron Cross; an assassin-in-training for CIA who goes on the run for his life after the clandestine exposure of their operations in previous movies forces the secret agency to shut down all active operations & terminate every associated member within it with immediate effect. With Paul Greengrass not returning to direct, it’s the screenwriter…

a more interesting surveillance-state film than i originally thought, if only because it depicts its American intel/military-industrial/corporate megaconspiracy as fundamentally incompetent, quagmired in blowback, endlessly cleaning up its own messes.

No Bourne no fun, Matt Damon didn’t want to show up because Paul Greengrass wasn’t the director, then they managed to continue with the saga without him… the call of the wild… I mean the call of the money. Never thought a Bourne installment would be about Hawkeye. List of movies I watched from Amazon Prime Spain 🇪🇸

“We are the sin eaters. It means that we take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us, so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible, and absolutely necessary.” Remember the great Mini Cooper chase scene in Bourne Identity? The apartment fight and toaster bomb in Supremacy? The rooftop chases in Ultimatum? What is memorable about Bourne Legacy, apart from the divergence in casting? I certainly hope it’s not when Rachel Weisz becomes hysterical with that lady psychologist, because that’s what I remembered most distinctly about it this second time through, and not in a good way. Why is it that…

This doesn’t even end, it just stops. Maybe two good scenes, the rest is a forgettable thriller with some Bourne stuff grafted on.

What a great idea, next let’s make a Batman movie with Batman in the title, but no Batman. Instead it stars someone who can do all the same things, played by Chris Evans. Genius. I originally thought they recasted Matt Damon but nope, Jeremy Renner plays a completely different character. This may come as a shock, but having Jason Bourne in a Jason Bourne movie is kind of essential.

The one where they find the steady cam button. Well…. sort of. I am a big fan of the first Bourne film and really can’t stand the follow ups due to Greengrass’ shaky cam fetish. This probably had an influence on my rating of this film, but to say that was the main reason is selling this film short. I didn’t really expect much from it and that’s mainly due to the trailer. It hinted at an action packed chase film, with the ‘new Bourne’ running around like a super human soldier. I can honestly say that this trailer is incredibly misleading as what we really get is a dialogue heavy, well directed and well acted thriller that is engaging…

I really dug the storytelling in this one running parallel with parts of the original trilogy, thought that was really cool. I thought this got off to a slower start compared to the others but eventually picked up similar to the previous installments. Really dug the score for this one too just like the previous ones. Much more loaded cast in this one too. Rachel Weisz’ performance was great plus her American accent was particularly impressive in this, barely even recognized her. Jeremy Renner is no Matt Damon (but to be fair kind of a tough act to follow anyway) but I still thought he was awesome. As was Edward Norton. & had no clue Oscar Isaac was in this, always…

I like this film. Probably cause a bit more modern and the action was just a little bit better. I also like how they’ve done a film to both show like the fallout of Jason Bourne‘s actions in the last film. Creative.

No Hate to Jeremy Renner, He’s a Great Actor Undoubtedly but there was no need of including him in a Bourne Movie coz the absolute soul of the Franchise is Matt Damon and He also knows that as He wouldn’t have said yes for the role if he had to play Jason Bourne. The makers got off the roots of this Franchise and that led to a Average Addition in it. The Action part has been done well surely and…

Awesome rewatch. I wish they’d continued making them with renner and I’d like weiss as a side kick ongoing too.

Bourne movie that takes over an hour and half to get to a chase scene that’s how you know this is a bit bloated. Not bad, action was better than Supremacy and Ultimatum, cast was good, Jeremy just doesn’t work as well as Damon for me though. He didn’t do bad just not stand out either. Story was fine, wish they chose between a side story and something happening during Ultimatum, don’t think doing both worked that well as it didn’t really add anything to Ultimatum I felt it needed.
-
G
A surprisingly slick and surprisingly effective expansion of the franchise. Jeremy Renner steps into the spotlight with gritty, grounded intensity, and the action sequences keep your adrenaline pumping from start to finish. It may not match Matt Damon’s original trilogy, but it holds its own as a tense spy thriller. 🎬💥

I mean a Jason bourne film without Jason bourne ye not the best still ok tho I think Jeremy renner did his best for what he had with the script but still not good at all kinda disappointed because all Bourne films were good until this one
-
M
I don’t think this needed to be made at all. Sure, the story does work, but it could have been its own standalone movie not associated with the Bourne franchise; then no one would watch it. I don’t actually think Jeremy Renner did a bad job, but he is not close to Matt Damon in any way. 2012 || Bourne
-
C
This actually slapped for the first 70% or so. If this was just about all the Ed Norton stuff, I think it would have been a home run. The whole administrative scramble in the wake of Jason Bourne is actually pretty compelling. Watching these clandestine operations attempt to clean their skeletons out of their closets by adding more of them in is satisfyingly diabolical. But alas, people expect action with this series so Jeremy Renner is here. He’s serviceable enough…

has some good moments but like a white pizza, missing a core ingredient: mr bourne himself. and only plot enough for about half a movie that they stretched into a full one… renner/weisz tandem is pretty game, all things considered though!

I love how they make almost no effort to disguise the fact that it’s not even Jeremy Renner half the time riding that motorcycle in the climax. The next movie in the series takes the series in a similar but also different direction and while I can appreciate that and some of the changes work well, this movie is an incredibly weak follow up to the trilogy. I feel bad saying that because it’s got some incredible talent behind it…

J
I find this movie so interesting because why did they make this why did they think this would be a good idea to make as a standalone film it’s not that good but then adding the context of it being the fourth in a franchise with nothing to do with the actual franchise, it’s one of the most useless and unnecessary films ever.

Worthy of a reclamation in the glow of the Gilroy renaissance. I enjoyed how much silly pharmaceuticals played into this! Above all, a real testament to the power of Matt Damon.

Been watching all the Bourne’s in 4K, and these final two were what I was most looking forward to rewatching. I’ve seen the original trilogy so much, and it’s been fun to re-engage with this entry. Legacy isn’t a great action movie, but it is a Grade A, DC-set thriller. The Edward Norton/spycraft shit is all superb. The Gilroy brothers have a real knack for pulling these conference room scenes off. Norton genuinely feels like he’s one of these disturbingly…

An absolute slog to get through. Why even make a Bourne movie without Jason Bourne? I usually quite like Renner too but here he is just pretty boring but it’s hard to put all the blame on him with such a dire script and story. Rachel Weisz’ character is a waste of space and they got EDWARD NORTON just to have him sit behind a desk doing nothing of note for 2 hours. The literal only positive was a handful of decent action scenes. Very disappointing.

What is the point of making a Jason Bourne movie WITHOUT JASON BOURNE. This movie was pointless and there was no reason for it to be made. It makes you realize that the Jason Bourne movies are only good because of Matt Damon. Other than that it’s the same thing 5 times. However, I do still enjoy them.

The only lasting legacy left behind by The Bourne Legacy is the fact that it’s the only entry in the franchise not to feature the man himself, with Matt Damon deciding not to return after Paul Greengrass refused to return to direct the fourth film. Universal Studios was at risk of losing the Bourne franchise if they didn’t produce a fourth film, which led to Tony Gilroy, who had written the script for the previous Bourne films, taking over the…

actually kinda liked this took a while for pace to pick up but once in manilla it was good. and its long but i think its necessary to make sense bc it shows the events before n after the bourne stuff. renner makes a good lead and i like they didn’t have a full on relationship or anything here it felt more natural and not rushed which is nice, some movies its like damn u just met. not as good as the other bourne films but not far off

The Bourne Legacy is the fourth and, in my view, entirely unnecessary and unwarranted movie in an otherwise iconic franchise. More than simply failing to live up to its predecessors, the film fundamentally misunderstands what made the original trilogy so compelling, taking the series in a direction that feels both contrived and profoundly disconnected from its established identity. The greatest flaw lies in its very premise. What had previously been conceived as a grounded blend of espionage thriller and kinetic…

The Gilroy brothers restore a legacy (…) property that had fallen into some disrepair by crafting a serious, professional story that centers excellent actors playing previously ancillary characters, all set in the broader universe but only so beholden to it. Not quite — but a little bit! — the Andor of the Bourne series. Making our guy’s skills the product of some Limitless pills undermines the fun inherent in the idea of a trained-up super spy. The audience can imagine…

The scene where he tells Rachel Weisz to “act like you belong here” has stayed with me for a long time. Any time I’m nervous, scared, or a feel out of place I think of that scene. Totally changed my mindset when I feel uncomfortable in public. Jeremy Renner does a great job, and the plot feels like a good parallel to Matt Damon’s. Not sure why this gets such low reviews

Interesting how they introduced a chemical element to what makes these guys super spy’s. There are a few contradictions that are hard to overlook, like how they destroy the entire program and hunt down anyone left, but also still have sleep agents waiting.

Leave it to Tony Gilroy to posit that the most unfathomably painful thing a person could be is an idiot (complementary). Legacy’s biggest shortcoming relative to the original Bourne trilogy is that where those were espionage movies driven by the actions of a three-dimensional central character, Legacy doesn’t let us into Cross’ psyche for nearly half its runtime. He’s the world’s most hyper-competent junkie, in frantic search of next fix, and that’s about all the internality he’s afforded. It’s frankly…

“AARON RUN!”—Dr Shearing At the same time the CIA is trying to hunt down Jason Bourne, another Treadstone agent foils the agency’s plans to kill the off the remaining operatives.

The Bourne Legacy is an interesting continuation of the Bourne franchise because it takes the series in a different direction while still trying to capture the identity of the original trilogy. Instead of Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne, we follow Aaron Cross, played by Jeremy Renner, another operative who has been genetically enhanced and trained by the same secret government program. What I like most about The Bourne Legacy is that it doesn’t simply try to remake the previous movies. The…

Unfortunately suffers from being a reworked script, but the action scenes are still pretty good. Nowhere near as frenetic or tense as the previous two movies, Jeremy Renner is an underwhelming lead, and the ending cuts itself short. Could work fine as a standalone spy thriller, but placing this within the Bourne continuity and then attempting to explain more of what makes Jason Bourne who he is by proxy just doesn’t please me.

Well, damn. This is probably the most I’ve ever adjusted a movie’s rating from my original rating upon rewatch. When I first watched this back in the 2010s I didn’t think much of it, which isn’t too surprising because 1) The Bourne Ultimatum didn’t need a sequel, 2) this movie doesn’t have Matt Damon in it, 3) it does a lot of its own worldbuilding instead of being a more conventional cash-grab sequel, and 4) it doesn’t hold your hand–I…

Aaron Cross: From the world of Jason Bourne. Renner is pretty damn good as the lead. I think it’s issue is that it tries to be a follow up from the original trilogy, where it is clearly a spin off. I enjoyed aspects but it wasn’t the best.

This one’s been sitting on my shelf for probably a decade as part of a box set and, while I’m not entirely sad I dusted it off, this also clearly should’ve just been its own movie and not part of the Bourne stuff, which I adore. Renner does a good job as always and Weisz is a lotta fun, but there is way more men in rooms yelling over other folks’ shoulders than any of the Damon entries, and while Norton is damn good (and damn good here – very curious if he’s wearing blue contacts), it does not live up to that trilogy.

aynı programın başka tarafını görmek fena değil ama bourne ortada olmayınca filmin adında bourne yazması bile eksikliği kapatmıyor

A
Not as good as the first Bourne movies but still pretty enjoyable. I liked the idea of seeing another agent in the same universe and Jeremy Renner is really good in the role. The action is fun and the movie looks great but the story can feel a little confusing at times. I also think it takes too long to really get going. Still a solid action movie but it does not have the same impact as the original.
