hair stylist was watching The Bourne Identity when i came in for my appointment. we watched the first two movies as she untwisted my locs and i went “oh wow” every few minutes as another ultra-2000s needle drop soundtracked moment after moment of me remembering who was in this cast. weird to see a movie with the energy of both the “You Wouldn’t Steal A Car” anti-piracy promo AND the music video for “Sandstorm.”

The month is June. The year is 2002. The guy is named Scott Henry Anderson. I am that guy. Scott Henry Anderson was 18 years old. Going to prom with his first real girlfriend. Graduating from high school. After a six year long ordeal with epilepsy that started on a fateful summer day while on vacation with his family, Scott had to undergo a 24 hour test of his brain to see if he could be medically cleared of the condition. That girlfriend I mentioned? She drove to his house to dump him that day. The day of the brain test. She literally could have picked ANY OTHER DAY to do it. She just couldn’t wait another 12 or so…

It’s fun to see a “zoom in… enhance” played straight from a time before comedy writers figured out you can’t do that. I don’t even mind the jokes about it, I just think it’s important to expose yourself to the real thing every once in a while so you don’t get lost in theory

Between James Bond and Jason Bourne I’m a Bourne guy all the way. I grew up idolising Bond as the quintessential spy, but this movie took my image of what makes a good spy thriller and made it grittier and more awesome. The fights, the car chases. I mean you’d never see James Bond do a chase in a Mr Bean esque car. Now, plenty of the movie is silly. It’s low budget in many ways. The punches sound almost…

Tiada henti, tiada jenuh. Mingkin ini log dan review pertama kali, tetapi saya telah menontonnya lebih dari belasan kali. Tiada henti, tiada jenuh. Sesederhana kangen liat Matt Nomad before Odyssey, sekaligus sebagai pecinta berat film Spy-Action selayaknya 007 dan M:I Tom Cruise. Namun Bourne Trilogy ini menawarkan aksi dan detail Spionage CIA yang jauh lebih akurat dan presisi secara teknis dan praktikal. My personal rate 4.9/5

For as much as Jason Bourne is talked about in the public consciousness, this movie is pretty forgettable. Funnily enough, I was actually surprised with just how good the score is. It’s somehow able to help add to the suspense when it needs to while still conveying the confusion Bourne is feeling at the time. The action is hit or miss. There were a few moments that were pretty suspenseful, but the full out “action sequences” were laughably bad with…

My first spy movie was Roger Moore’s Moonraker. I am of a Mission Impossible household. This ushered in an era of stone-faced serious realism and “play it straight” that I decidedly was not a fan of. But damn if it didn’t earn its time in the sun. Revisiting Bourne 24 years later, it still absolutely kicks ass. Julia Stiles looks the prettiest she’s ever looked, in these movies. Clive Owen steals the show with a very very limited runtime. Matt…

Really interesting concept that an assassin spy gets amnesia and now his higher up people think he’s gone off the charts avoiding his mission. But he just doesn’t know who he is or where he is. Very solid action movie with solid performances, a compelling story, and a cool setting. Kind of wish there was more action, though? I’d somehow never watched a single one of these films – but was eager to try. Matt Damon is a believable and fun action star. I liked it! But it doesn’t hold a candle to some of the great action movies of the 21st century. Shout out to my brother for picking this up for me for my birthday as well as Casino Royale because I hadn’t seen either and he said that needed to change.

How could I forget you. You’re the only person I know. The idea of The Bourne Identity is great and so was the realisation of it. Because of its story line, the action movie was very engaging and not that basic kind of where you mostly see gun fights. The various twists were timed perfectly. My favourite scene was the car chase for sure, I absolutely loved the soundtrack. I immediately recognised it from Collateral. And the amnesia part reminded me of Memento. As a German I have to point out Marie‘s slip outs, which where funny to me. Verdammte scheiße Can’t wait to see the whole trilogy.

65- “I don’t send you to kill, I send you to be invisible” Bourne is een Bond geïnspireerd karakter, maar met meer een compleet andere manier van denken en handelen dan Bond. Beter dan Bond? I can see why Tom Holland was all on Matt Damon’s jock while they were filming The Odyssey! Couldn’t help but think how much harder it would be to be Jason Bourne now with so much surveillance both purposely (I.e. flock) and not purposely (social media, meta glasses, ring cameras accessed by the government) all around, you’d have to play a perfect game to stay alive.

Really writing for this one. My best argument for this movie being the my favorite movie of all time is that it is the moment when postmodernism became so mainstream that it started affecting action movies, it captures in-frame this strange moment just as the EU was beginning to coalesce, American exceptionalism was beginning to erode, and technology was on the verge of a complete and hostile takeover. It is the foundational and seminal “Post-911 action movie” representing the change…

Unlike other espionage/spy action type of action films, The Bourne Trilogy feels much more technical, grounded and realistic. Action scenes are efficient and impactful, well choreographed, and the mystery behind Bourne’s amnesia is well written.
- Synopsis
- Wounded to the brink of death and suffering from amnesia, Jason Bourne is rescued at sea by a fisherman. With nothing to go on but a Swiss bank account number, he starts to reconstruct his life, but finds that many people he encounters want him dead. However, Bourne realizes that he has the combat and mental skills of a world-class spy—but who does he work for?
