There’s lots of PG-13 movies which feel R, but this is a rare R movie that is spiritually PG-13

Straight up masterpiece. Every shot, every beat, every edit, every performance, every MOMENT feels precise and effortless at the same time. Peak Cameron for me.

“The unknown future rolls toward us. I face it for the first time with a sense of hope, because if a machine, a Terminator, can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too.” I’d be hard-pressed to pinpoint a single reason why this isn’t one of the best action blockbusters ever. It encapsulates everything that makes an action film great: a frenzy of ambitious visionary cat and mouse chases and a flawless mythos full of depth and despair. Every moment surpassing the previous one. Every single time The Terminator and T-1000 came into close proximity, the hairs on my arms stood straight up. Everything polluted and dark, with the twisted score bursting into my ears. It’s obvious that…

The quintessential sequel, the quintessential sci-fi actioner & one of the greatest films ever made, James Cameron’s sequel to his breakthrough classic is such a massive upgrade over its predecessor that it ends up decimating the 1984 original in all filmmaking departments with effortless ease, and remains one of the most influential, entertaining & breathtaking action extravaganzas to ever grace the silver screen. A highly irresistible, pulse-pounding, high-octane, full-throttled & top-gear action spectacle that’s filled with some of the most dangerous, daring & heart-stopping stunts ever captured on film, Terminator 2: Judgment Day is the definition of a perfect sequel that presents its renowned director at the peak of his gifted talents. It is the best work of his illustrious career and its influence…

I ordered pizza while watching this and normally I would get a Hawaiian (not interested in discourse around this, too boring) but we ordered via Domino’s, where they make you add the toppings manually. Usually I would have the focus to pull this off with extreme precision– really just batting a thousand when it comes to pressing two buttons– however this was also around the time when Arnold, Robert Patrick, and Baby Furlong are racing through the LA river and I had to exclaim “look at that shit! got damn!” every few seconds to share my excitement and ruin it for my friends who had not seen the film before with trivia I half-remembered. It was in this moment that…

100 A classic Cameron climax: an industrial environment swirling with the menace of smoke and the cascade of fire, an out-pour festered by a sea of clanging chains, cyborgs battling for the soul of a human child whose actions plunge the inevitability of our demise into molasses. Key line is something along the lines of “don’t ask” in regards to the discovered CPU in the present-day; beyond this particular absentee-father, reconstructed familial unit story, submerged and iced over with cool-blue CGI craft and fucking irresponsible yet prodigious spectacle set-pieces, is a future still set in stone, hope found in close proximity and not within humanity’s collective failures. Loving the important figures around you is the first step in a larger…

Now that was a great action movie! The special effects were phenomenal, the acting was perfect, the plot was just as good as the first one, and the action itself was much better. I especially liked the Terminator and Sarah’s development. The Terminator was the perfect mix of human and robot by the end of the film, and Sarah was an incredibly realistic portrayal of a woman who had her life turned upside down, and was forced to handle it…

Just does everything better than the original. Great idea for the story and great execution

Very good, maybe I think it’s better than the first one. I did think the start of the film Sarah was a bit unhinged unlikable but then in the end she redeemed herself I thought yeah I’m happy with that Arnold Schwarzenegger this is where I feel the franchise should end public keep on watching them but yes, good movie but I do think it’s better than the

Sarah when meeting her son after years: 😡😤 Sarah when meeting some mexican guy: 🤗🤗 John’s adoptive parents: “Hey, John, could you, maybe, if it’s not too much of a problem, consider cleaning up your room a bit?” James Cameron: “These guys suck! They deserve to die a horrible death.” Some random guy in the middle of the street every now and again after some chase scene: “Hey, buddy, you aight? Beautiful day, innit?” Evil Terminator: Cuts through face. Steals shape or vehicle or both.

I actually realized that I’ve never managed to watch this movie in its entirety, not because I didn’t like it or anything, but because I always only managed to catch a bit of it or start watching somewhere in the middle, but was it better than the first one? In many aspects definitely, but personally, I liked the story of the first part more.

The best first hour of any action movie, full stop!

It’s peak, no notes. The practical effects are amazing, the CGI was groundbreaking and still holds up very well, every single one of Arnie’s one-liners are iconic, and not to mention the stellar performances from Robert Patrick as the T-1000 and Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor. This was my favourite film for a long time growing up so I was cautious to revisit it, but it did not disappoint in the slightest. This will always be one of my favourites.

Terminator 2 isn’t just the best action movie of the ’90s—for me, it’s one of the greatest films of all time. James Cameron created a masterpiece here that, over 30 years later, still looks breathtaking—and that’s largely thanks to its revolutionary effects, because the fluid T-1000 made of metal is still more impressive today than so much modern CGI overkill, which just proves it’s real craftsmanship. Equally brilliant is the character development: Arnold Schwarzenegger as the protective Terminator, who evolves…

DirectTV – TCM 8.22.26 “Todd and Janelle are dicks, but I’ve gotta warn them. You got a quarter?” Cameron really knows how to stage an action scene. I would have killed for a Friedkin film with T2 era Hamilton.

I like that the T-1000 had a favourite form. You could get political about it but I like to think he just liked the look of Robert Patrick, the way you might have a hat or something you like

so so much better than the first, I love when the terminator is terminating for good and not for robot evil! eery AI and military parallels ….

The best terminator flim, watching it made me appreciate the stunt choreography (especially where a lot of modern films rely on dubious CGI).
