    Excellent execution of a supernatural horror film with an original take on being possessed by spirits. The cursed object was really cool with a mysterious backstory. The actors did a very good job on naturally capturing the vibe of casual hangout between young people, although the characters did seem a bit shallow at times. Outside of the casual hangout, the movie delivered intense and actually scary scenes. And what I appreciate the most, the movie presented some eyebrow-raising WTH moments whose shock factor wasn’t reliant on extreme gore or sexual violence, but rather on unexpected and revolting behavior.

    I was thinking about watching this last night and thank fuck I didn’t. I watched this a long time ago and didn’t realize how violent and disgusting this was. And that twist at the end was literally Peak. The Philippou brothers always cook up some messed up shit when it comes to horror.

    I liked this film it was messed up in all types of ways but that’s what reminds me of what horror really is. It pushed boundaries but didn’t go too far. The psychological aspect of this film had me gripped and it also managed to show such a beautiful and heartbreaking representation of grief throughout.

    I thought this movie had some creepy moments as well as disturbing imagery, I love when horror movies aren’t afraid of giving us a bleak ending, Mia and her mental decline was crazy to see that ending was honestly pretty haunting. I could’ve used some more scares it felt slow at times but still enjoyable.
