With sincere condolences to the underpaid animators who spent the last four months in panic mode, Sonic the Hedgehog’s grotesque human teeth have turned out to be the least of his movie’s problems. If it’s any consolation, just remember that someone once spent a torturous amount of time designing the curtains for the Titanic (of course, the people who designed the curtains for “Titanic” were rewarded with an Oscar for Best Art Direction, but let’s not worry about that right now). The point is that “Sonic the Hedgehog” was beyond salvation long before a fan outcry rescued the Sega mascot from the island of Dr. Moreau. It’s hard to remember the last time that a video game adaptation so fundamentally…

Here’s a list of things that happen in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie: – “Yep, this is me. Your probably wondering how I got here” opening framing device – A throw away line about how Robotnik was involved in the Afghanistan war – Sonic and the main guy being mistaken for domestic terrorists – A “we don’t like your kind in these parts” gag followed by a bar fight -Some of the most baffling editing choices I’ve seen all year – A brief Sonic related meme cameo – Mild homoeroticism – A Southland Tales reference

Sonic watches Speed (1994) and calls Keanu Reeves a national treasure. That is why this is a certified masterpiece! 2020 ranked

Queria muito falar algo mas eu seria muito capacitista com uma parcela da sociedade então vou ficar quieto, mas o Sonic é igualzinho um tipo de pessoas.

Jim carey stole the show. Every scene he was in was perfect. Watched it because ben schwartz voices sonic and he also voices rottmnt leo and theyre basically the same character. Also love any movie where a character is saved by the power of friendship. Also loved the designs of all robotniks tech. Never wanted an evil lab more than I’ve wanted his evil lab

for sure the weakest of the three but is still a fun time. acting all round is good James Marsden is good as main dude, sonics voice actor is pretty solid as well, even though Jim Carey isnt fully eggman in this hes still pretty fun with his quips. cgi is really good and the action is pretty good with exploring sonics speed they really can do lots of creative stuff in this. the whole road trip vibe is fun and this movie has a great runtime it doesn’t overstay its welcome or make you feel like their is tones missing.

It’s an adaptation in the loosest sense, but nonetheless a pretty good movie.

37. H

    Haonnoah 2026年8月22日

Pretty bad. Just an overall bland and ugly movie that only really gets saved by Jim Carrey. There are far too many clichés, and the movie literally starts with Sonic doing the “Yep, that’s me! You’re probably wondering how I got here…” thing. It’s missing the charm that Sonic projects are supposed to have, but I do think Ben Schwartz is really good as Sonic, and Jim Carrey is easily the standout. It’s a fun, fast-paced family movie that’s entertaining enough, but it just isn’t for me.

Young Sonic was adorable 😁. Now I’m probably what they call a Sonic Larper because I’ve only played one Sonic game many years ago but that doesn’t change the fact that I like the character. He’s an icon in the gaming industry. Anyway. I wanted to rewatch this film because not only do I remember enjoying it before but also the new Fortnite season happened to make me pretty interested in Sonic so I may even go and play some…

Casting Ben Schwartz as Sonic was an A+ movie. He really brings the character to life. And he had good back and forth with James Marsden. Jim Carrey went a too far as Doctor Robotnic. His scenes felt like a different “type” of movie from the rest, if that makes sense. Like, the rest of the movie was standard Hollywood family fare, but the scenes with Dr. Robotnic were made-for-Nickelodeon-TV quality stupid.
