Christopher Walken has literally 3 lines in this film… 1. NAAAAHH! 2. WAAAAHH! and who could forget… 3. RAAAAHH! Would you believe as crazy as he is in this film, he’s been crazier on and off film?

Had so much potential to be more interesting, seems to fall victim of doing too much and too quickly that it honestly becomes boring which is quite impressive as the headless horseman has so much aura as a character in other adaptations. Also visually has aged really poorly with some of the CGI shots looking so unbelievably cheesy. Honestly prefer the Disney classic

For me maybe Tim Burton’s most conventional and audience friendly movie that retains his signature visual style. Entertaining, visually gorgeous to look at, yet missing a little sprinkle of true Burton magic on an emotional level.

“Is he dead?” “That’s the problem. He was dead to begin with.” I’ll always wholeheartedly believe Depp was made for gothic dark fantasy/horror-esque. He just has that way about him that makes him purely alluring. I didn’t anticipate to enjoy this movie as much as I did but from the get go I adored it. I also enjoyed how Ichabod Crane is skeptical and Depp portrays him so fantastically – especially the little looks and being scared by a spider…

Oh lord, I should not have come to this place where my rational mind has been so controverted by the spirit world…

Sleepy Hollow was and is an eerie, gothic yet darkly comedic movie at times but felt a little bit long. The storyline was written well and delivered onto the screen in perfect Burton fashion, but after a while i slowly began to feel bored. The direction by Burton was top notch. The acting was perfect, especially from Johnny Depp and the Danny Elfman score was pure cinema. The horror elements were silly but they worked well.

undoubtedly a very beautiful film but some of the acting feels a little stale at times. johnny depp only seems to play the same 3 characters with slight variations as ive come to realise

The way they did the headless horseman was pretty sick especially him coming out of and going into that tree. Also Miranda Richardson is great in this and she looks stunning

Gostei.

I fuck with the vibes heavy. Eery wooded town, autumnal fog, lightning cracks, and a spooky specter causing harm. The Headless Horseman is one of the toughest folktale beings. Dripped out on a black horse carrying a flaming pumpkin head prowling the desolate woods. Straight aura-maxing.

I don’t know how to describe the tone of this film. I guess horror-adjacent works. I don’t think Tim Burton can make a truly scary film. With that being said it is still a visual treat and had some somewhat tense and unnerving moments. The character as a whole are kinda the weak point.

Ghost story about a headless rider. Combines Tim Burton’s dark humor with very gothic aesthetics. There is an old lonely village, a mill, a spooky forest with bizarre trees and a bunch of old men with wigs. America looks somehow very “British” here. And colours are not just outwashed but barely existent. It’s a funny detective/ghost story with a quick moving plot. Many, many heads will roll like *plopp* *plopp* *plopp*, but due to the very comic-like approach it’s never…

I love the fact, that Mary had Katrina at her mercy…she was literally unconscious and Mary could have killed her the entire time, but for some reason decided to let the Headless Horseman do it. Doctor Evil would be proud.

Honestly the whole time I was distracted by how many famous actors were in it.

Genuinely stressful campy horror with a young Johnny Depp, immaculate spooky vibes, 10/10 sound effects and a Jack Skellington cameo, what’s not to love?

Introduced my almost eleven year old to this classic. This cast is incredible, including some of Britain’s greatest stage and screen actors and also, for some reason Casper Van Dien. Johnny is a great Ichabod and Ricci is captivating, as always. Burton brings all his best to bear and we’re left with this glorious and timeless masterpiece.
