the kind of movie that has the gall to show the Rock wielding a sword in the midst of a shootout on the rooftop of “the tallest building on Earth,” but then take said sword away from him before he’s able to slice & dice a couple bad guys. what the Rock really needs to do is star in a film called Skyscraper Sword Battles, in which every building in the world is a skyscraper and he must leap from skyscraper to skyscraper with his trusted blade, slicing & dicing bad guys. until he reaches the final skyscraper, where he has to slay an asshole dragon who kidnapped his family just because it was bored and wanted to see some Skyscraper Sword Battles.

Dwayne Johnson è perfetto per questo tipo di ruolo e le sequenze ambientate nel grattacielo sono molto efficaci. La logica viene spesso sacrificata in favore dello spettacolo, ma il film sa intrattenere. English A spectacular action movie clearly inspired by the big action films of the ’80s and ’90s. Dwayne Johnson fits this kind of role perfectly, while the skyscraper sequences deliver plenty of spectacle. Logic is often sacrificed for entertainment, but the movie knows how to have fun.

Over the top and has some good moments, I like the Rock In the film and the whole idea of the skyscraper. However “Im right behind you” was so corny lol and like the part where Neve Campbell walks the plank across with the kid, like c’mon… Him climbing down the building was pretty cool though and seeing some of the sights. Movie wasn’t that good tbh. The only thing that really saved this was the act of Dwayne Johnson doing his job of being an amazing actor. Other than that this movie was just a loose thread. Action full, but didn’t really hook you. Watching it was more of to finish it then actually enjoy it. Took me multiple different occasions to finish because of this.

I was offended when my dad called this a popcorn action film but I think it had just been a while since I’d seen this movie. In other news, I learnt that Dwayne Johnson can ride a motorcycle after I realised I’ve seen two movies in which it’s so bizarre that he would ride one in it and therefore feels written in because he can do it.
