I recently watched a mini-doc on David Fincher’s film techniques. One of the scenes that’s mentioned is the famous “box” scene. When he filmed Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, he used a handheld camera as “shakycam” to represent the two losing control of the situation. When he filmed Kevin Spacey, he used a tripod so it would be shot in place to represent him having all the power. I had never noticed this before, that genius bastard.

To be honest ,, i really enjoyed se7en . The movie is over two hours long but somehow it never felt that long. The acting was insane, and the cinematography fit the dark ,, unsettling atmosphere perfectly The whole”what’s in the box?”scene genuinely got to me and actually made me feel something. I also really liked tracy,, so what happened to her hit harder than I expected. My only problem was the ending it was powerful , but also a little frustrating 4 me,,overall a really well made movie.

Pour une intrigue basé sur une enquête policière sur des meurtres en séries, le scénario est plutôt bon, avec des très bons choix je trouve quand au traitement du criminel, le fait qu’il soit rapidement découvert, qu’il interagisse avec les détectives, puis se livre lui même.. I have never felt that much dread and never had that big of a pit in my stomach ever in those last 15 minutes. I just wished that first hour didn’t drag as much as it did. A great duo between Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt both great performances. But Kevin spacey really sold me something I will never forget and il be honking about that ending for a long while to come.

I think my favorite bit of trivia I like to tell people about this movie is there’s a scene where Brad is drinking coffee out of a paper cup and Ren Klyce (who did the sound design) was editing on a small monitor w poor resolution and couldnt see the cup that well and so when Brad puts the cup down, it’s the loud sound of a ceramic mug and not a paper cup. It’s completely unnoticeable, but really funny when you see it.
