At one point in San Andreas, in which the largest earthquake in recorded history slices and shakes its way through California, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson parachutes into the middle of a San Francisco baseball stadium with his estranged wife, Emma (Carla Gugino), clinging to his bulging midsection. “It’s been a while since we’ve been to second base” he tells her as they land safely on the field, sharing a chuckle after an afternoon spent watching several thousand people be swallowed into the earth. Guilty pleasure movie. Some disaster movies require you to think but San Andreas is not one of them. Just dumb fun in my opinion and occasionally that’s all I need to have a good time

I thought San Andreas was an okay movie overall. The disaster scenes were entertaining and there were some cool moments, but I didn’t really care that much about most of the characters. They didn’t have a whole lot of depth, so the story felt pretty basic at times. The Rock also basically just played himself like he always does, which made the character feel less interesting. Still, I had a decent time watching it and I’d say it’s an okay disaster movie if you’re just looking for something entertaining.

Fear mongering, cliche and unrealistic. The way they came unscathed is a little too generous yk? Specially Blake who got pushed by the water so many times and the water had debris too! So convenient as well how they can get a plane, a boat and no one flocked the 3 when they got their hands on the emergency box. But! It did entertain me and I had good time watching it. As a CGI fest it is quite good. Those water simulations were fire. As a natural disaster movie is alright, it is just that The Rock in the middle of it all was a bit too much. What was that second base joke???? So out of place and cringe ☠️.
