I hope Zack Snyder adapts Goat Simulator next, since this is clearly a Farm Simulator adaptation.

snyder’s Big Damn War Picture featuring the best action he’s ever done + homages to dovzhenko’s earth, eisenstein’s the general line and king vidor’s our daily bread — labor, earth, warfare, politics-as-chorus of voices, each shot coinciding into a back-blast opera, the bodies of the fighters moving in time with a collective emotion, all arranged around the motif of harvest: the farm becomes a site where blood must be spilled, traumas must be confronted, tactics, organization, and above all, rebellion — capitalist imperialism is an artificial imposition upon the very ground that humanity walks upon, whether on this planet or the countless moons and stars. outside of oppenheimer, the child of fire/scargiver duology are the most political blockbusters i’ve seen…

I regret to inform that we are absolutely not back. There was a Q&A after my screening with Zack Snyder and he spent a few minutes discussing his Directors Cuts and how they’re “totally different” films, each with an extended hour of runtime. It’s so frustrating. The #releasethesnydercut hype will not be replicated for fucking Rebel Moon and I find it quite funny, and equally as infuriating, that Snyder and Netflix think they’re onto something here. It’s agonizing sitting through a film knowing it’s incomplete… knowing the “real” version is somewhere out there and the producers are electing to keep it hidden in a vault. Regardless, as it stands right now with the version Netflix is choosing to release, this…

A truly horrible script. There was a moment when it kept showing what felt like never-ending flashbacks to every character’s backstory and I wanted to die.

This shit opens with a full voiceover recap of the first film and honestly I don’t think I even remembered the name of a single character, location, or event. They could’ve been describing a completely nonexistent movie and I would’ve said, “uhh…ok…sure, right, ok.” We’re off to a great start, Zack. Like the pitiful dreamer that I am, I somehow had hope that Snyder would improve upon the mismanaged patchwork stage setting that he felt was so necessary to footstomp in Part 1, and in doing so would offer up a more original, more ambitious, more unrestrained narrative in Part 2. Instead, we spend a full hour circling the drain of derivative damnation, being treated to dramatic scenes of hyper-intense…

Somehow it was saving the worst bits for part two! Incredible test of patience and fortitude.

Not even wasting my time conjuring up a thoughtful review for this one. Such empty and hollow sci-fi — I unfortunately couldn’t care less for every single character. Not to mention the scale of this film is so small compared to the first. This big final battle takes place entirely on a farm! Some of the action set pieces are fine, but they carry zero weight. Zack Snyder’s Star Wars rip off sadly falls flat for me. The cast are innocent by the way, no ill will towards them.

A 6 hour 17 minute spiritual journey. Finished watching at 1:30 am. I was basically in another plane of existence by the end. Some of the sickest visuals ever created. Every frame is a beautiful painting that I could just stare at for ages. The character designs are so cool too. The Priests, the spider lady, Jimmy, the robot engine woman, the random robot prostitute, the technicians, etc, etc, etc. Now, some of the writing is fucking dumb. How is…

We take the same people… And get the same result. In it’s search of lacking originality, this ersatz of Star Wars mixed with Warhammer give us the murder of Julius Caesar BUT IN SPACE! At least we get to enjoy the talent of Sofia Boutella and Bae Doona, who are really good at fight scenes.

slow motion harvesting? lmao tf are we doin? name a bigger drop off from Watchmen to this =

What a movie, Jack Snyder is such a wonderful director and writer, it is well seen through his movies, DC really did a grave mistake removing him.

he threatened to make four more of these

Mon amour pour Sofia Boutella n’a pas suffit…

The fact that there’s a version of this with all the gore cut out is bizarre to me. Like that’s the point. It’s trashy pulp and the blood glitters chrome in the light of laser fire. And people are lying to themselves if they think any start wars film released since ROTS is any better than these. Honestly I hope he makes the next four.

Only reason I watched this: is because I like to always finish what I start. Very much all style over substance. Think this was slightly better than the last. Who knows if there was more to develop the story if it could have been something.

I guess the first wasn’t bad enough to keep me from watching the 2nd but I always need to know how things end. This movie should be good but it’s not. Bad writing. Bad cgi. Feels like they just pumped out some movies to pump them out. 2010s style

lousy plot, dialogue, effects, choreo, everything. there was so much stuff that didn’t make any damn sense. no flow to the story at all and literally impossible to get emotionally invested in any capacity. obviously it’s especially disappointing as this was supposed to be the next big sci fi epic

Curse of Forgiveness Repeats the storytelling flashback trick of the first movie early, which I continue to like, and all of the farming stuff takes this in a whole new direction that threatens to make it genuinely interesting. Genuinely interesting in spite of the fact that in the absurdly excessive use of slow motion it fairly quickly becomes clear here, as I don’t know that it did in the even longer first part, that this is being stretched out way…

(directors cut) Was denk ik beter geweest als de twee delen één film waren want er gebeurt bar weinig in deze

After a disappointing 3-hour Part 1, I was hoping Part 2 would pull off a surprise. Unfortunately, it doesn’t. It feels like the final battle was originally meant to be the conclusion of Part 1 in a single film. But since they split it into two parts and couldn’t base an entire second movie on just one fight, they sprinkled in some generic, uninteresting character backstories as filler.

I am going to kidnap Zach Snyder and make him watch poop come out of my butt for 6 hours. Someone has to kill this guy before they let him remake Escape from New York. I thought maybe part two would be better since all of the setup is done and we can get to the real story. Nope! 1.5 hours into PART TWO we are just now learning the backstories of our main crew, and not in a way…

WOULD YOU RATHER: 1. one tier 4 item in 2 hours 2. Days and days of skin-peeling torture The choice is obvious

As expected, this movie is boring, lifeless, and cliche. It’s interesting because I see a lot of similarities between this film and Seven Samurai, but even though Seven Samurai is a masterpiece, and this film is clearly not, it’s like Seven Samurai but without any interesting characters, tension, or anything.

I didn’t expect 90 minutes of sexy farming to be so entertaining

Similar thoughts on this as I had on Part 1; as enjoyable as most big space rebellion movies go. Interesting ending, we’ll see if they keep going with these movies, I would probably keep watching!

I really have no problem with Snyder, but it’s disappointing that he fails to tell a halfway decent story despite spreading it across two movies with such a long runtime.
