Ugh, so sweet! Teen comedies are always a very hard sell for me but the third act blindsided me multiple times in such a warm and wonderful way. Almost cried at one scene near the end. 🙂 A great piece of dumb guy cinema too, in that there are a lot of dumb characters that get hilarious little asides that prompted a full-belly laugh from me in the theater. Good shit!!!!! My friend Natalie directed the hell out of this movie and my other friend Moses made me guffaw several times in the funniest scene of the movie. Very proud of these people, and I congratulate myself for knowing them. 🙂 That’s right, this is about me now!

this was genuinely so fun. I’d been meaning to watch it for a while but I psyched myself out thinking it would be too cringe or too unserious to tell a real story but i was gratefully mistake. the performances were great, and truly enjoyable and despite the classic “life-alterting road trip where everything goes wrong” cliche it wasn’t too predictable. if you’re looking for a wacky coming-of-age buddy comedy I’d definitely recommend this one 🙂

Occasionally amusing road trip that has great chemistry between the energetic leads but I was often thinking of better films of a similar vibe such as BookSmart or Superbad. The film feels a lot cheaper than those and some of the set prices try to be as gross out as possible which is to the films detriment as it’s not really that type of film. The films best elements come from the two leads and their connection as friends.

And the moral of the story is: your parents are probably cooler than you think? Movie was fine, the straight girl and gay girl duo is a classic now. Some wholesome moments, mostly Sunny and Lupe’s no good very bad roadtrip! But beware if you’re gonna watch! There was some grossout humour that I found less humour and more stomach churning! ive been having some booksmart drought lately and this movie satiated it. it had the perfect corny-comedy, chaos to heartfelt moments ratio that ive been needing. the performance of the actors did not feel so forced or amateur, cinematography was nice. augh, it also explored some great themes of the conflicts in adolescence that im too sleep deprived to talk deeply about. but all in all, great chaotic good/neutral, queer, female friendship, coming-of-age movie. new comfort movie me thinks!
