La banda sonora te hace imaginar que tú estás ahí, que tú eres Wendy o simplemente otro niño perdido que solo quiere que le lean un cuento. I luv this story as a child and I luv also the adaptation. But, I gained a different perspective about this when I rewatched it now that I’m older. I knew where Peter Pan was coming, I thought as a child it was sweet that he wanted Wendy and her siblings to stay in Neverland, but looking at it now, it was not, he was only thinking of himself, but a child is naturally selfish, right? Anyway, if given a chance I wouldn’t want to grow up this fast either. Yorm lang bye-bye!

Pretty average film, honestly. I feel like it’s one of those movies that is saved by the nostalgia of having grown up with it, and since that’s not me it was pretty meh. The actor who played Mr. Darling and Captain Hook did very well. I also enjoyed the kid who played Peter Pan. He did pretty well. Horny twelve year olds is so weird to me. I get that there’s this theme of romance and how that’s a part of growing up, but it felt really…like a lot for most of the film.

non ho nulla da dire, se non che questo film ha tutto il mio cuoricino. Da piccola lo guardavo con gli occhi sognanti, lasciando la finestra aperta anche con -12°. Riguardo questo film ogni anno, e pure nei momenti in cui voglio morire. Mi fa sentire più leggera, mi fa ritornare bambina, una bambina che può essere sempre tale, cosa che io da piccola sognavo. Peter Pan è sempre stato un personaggio a me molto caro, e questo film l’ha rappresentato nel modo migliore. Non ringrazierò mai abbastanza P.J Hogan per questo capolavoro.

Saw an edit of Jason Isaac’s Hook to Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game which made me instantly come to rewatch this film. I watched this so much as a kid that I wore the tape out. They say everything is more vivid when you’re a child but somehow this movie was more beautiful and colourful than I remembered!! Peter Pan, Stardust & Pan’s Labyrinth are the three muses of ‘did seven year old me dream this film?’ Melancholic elegant lonely obsessed Hook is a performance our underdeveloped brains barely deserved. (What a wicked game you play, to make me feel this way)

This being the one and only Peter Pan adaptation in history is iconic. The set design and colors!!! Omg they really don’t make movies like this anymore. Also something about this movie coming out in 2003 and the cgi and special effects being better than movies that have come out recently. The surrealism of the sky to all the artificial plants in the jungle, my one issue was the girl playing Wendy has these giant whoville teeth and it’s very distracting. The mermaids are scary af.
