three concepts i love: – drift compatibility – humanity pooling its resources and working together to build giant robots with the sole purpose of kicking alien lizard ass – charlie hunnam, idris elba and rinko kikuchi triple teaming me

Musique cool.

BIG FUCKING ROBOTS FIGHT BIG FUCKING MONSTERS who knew than in order to make a good sci-fi hollywood action movie you need Guillermo Del Toro. This is a movie with all the Hollywood action cliches, and it’s awesome. The action scenes are fucking orgasmic, straight up just fucking amazing. I want a physical copy of this.

Falling from grace, I watch it all come apart Knowing I could’ve changed it all from the start Fighting myself, I always lose Fighting myself, I always lose I didn’t want you to think I’m worn out so easily I wish I’d held it in, so you never knew what built up inside of me Now, I don’t know how it overflows, spill out unwillingly But now, everything that I learned to hate came out for you to see I…

It is very rare for a movie to feel this video-game coded. Nice dystopian and sci-fiction premise Ending was slightly abrupt I wanted to see how they moved on from the trauma and damage and rebuilt their cities after the attacks Also two characters were killed off for no good reason???

Blu-ray A perfectly fine and entertaining, but rather unsurprising movie to turn off your brain for two hours. Audiovisually epic, benefits from a big screen and competent home cinema setup.

This receives from me a best in class [puts on alex jones hat] Globocorpohumanistslopificationating Award (honourable runners up: Pirates of the Caribbean 5, Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon, Now You See Me 2+3, Jurassic World, Matrix Revolutions). This is probably my most hated genre of movies (mid-2010s CGI fests for “everyone*”) but delivered to a reasonably high standard. All scenes that were storyboarded before any actors were hired were great! God, this type of movie is by faaaaar my…

The closest we’re going to get to a live-action Neon Genesis Evangelion movie. I am most definitely entertained! The glorious action scenes, enhanced by the great soundtrack and sound effects, had me on the edge of my seat. Simply glorious! The characters aren’t complex in the slightest, but their interactions with each other really added to the spectacle. The weaker elements are the horrendous opening montage, with exposition from hell and unimpressive CGI, as well as Mako, whose character has clichéd colored streaks and who could also have used a better actress. I’m definitely planning on getting the 4K disc!

This movie is totally generic, with well known tropes like the soldier with a dead family member, the cientist and the badges girl that the protagonist has interest. It’s insane how this movie takes Kaijus and Mechas fighting and somehow makes it boring
