If Anakin Skywalker has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Anakin Skywalker has only one fan then that’s me. If Anakin Skywalker has no fans, then that means I am no longer alive. If the world is against Anakin Skywalker, then I am against the world.

A surprisingly effective recap (ie brilliant sizzle reel of episodes 1-3 that almost convinces you the prequels are worth watching) leads into Ewan McGregor Rey-In-Force-Awakens-ing around Tatooine (which is basically just Oddworld at this point) whilst young Leia traipses around in costumes and on sets that dare to ask the question “what could be more boring than Star Trek: Insurrection?” Mostly horrific performances, tensionless action and an overactive score working to hold it all together. Expect more from your streamers.

the current cast list for this on Letterboxd implies Ewan McGregor is the only person in the entire show

Wtf happened here? So dull and worse than that lazy. The production design especially is flat out awful. Everything looks cheap and plastic at best and at worst, more in line with embarrassing fan film. This Volume shit has got to go. Not an ounce of texture in any of these locations. Insane how in just a few years Star Wars has been reduced from THE film franchise to something resembling a SyFy channel level series. Not that’s there’s not a place for those (I’m sure some people like them) but it’s just incredible the level of damage Disney has done to this series. No longer a must see. Everything is just lore building now. It doesn’t feel special anymore. The soul has been lost for awhile now but even before this they were at least made with a technical competence. McGregor still good and I really like Edgerton’s Uncle Owen but damn there’s no reason for this to exist.

Here’s what I think happened: LucasFilm originally hired Stephen Daldry to write and direct a Star Wars spinoff movie for Obi-Wan Kenobi. Daldry then wrote a really kickass character-driven narratively-focused story about an older, grizzled Ewan McGregor who has to wrestle with his broken faith as he is, once more, confronted with the challenge of having to overcome and defeat his former padawan, Anakin Skywalker. And then Solo: A Star Wars Story happened. And it flopped. And everyone at LucasFilm lost their everlasting shit. In this frenzied state of panic, Kathleen Kennedy immediately gave Daldry the axe and cancelled his beautiful film. And then, a year and a half later, The Mandalorian happened. And it was a hit. A really,…

A review of The Patterson Cut: This is what I wish the show had been. I think Obi-Wan Kenobi was originally supposed to be a film before Disney u-turned and made it into a series instead. And considering this film was constructed from six episodes, I think it does an incredible job of making it work as a cohesive movie while adding smaller details that help the story. Of course, there are still some small continuity errors, but that’s to…

As a recent Star Wars fan who has only watched the original trilogy, the prequels, and The Clone Wars series, I have no complaints. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series was one of the last things left for me to watch in the Star Wars universe, but I decided to jump ahead to it. I can see the series’ connection to the events that came before and after. Here, we see Obi-Wan—now known as Ben—living in exile on Tatooine, ten years after…

Why on earth would we go back to Tatooine??? “Closest cannon content to Revenge of the Sith” my ass. This could have been underworld crime in Coruscant with Maul, fighting over the scraps the Empire hasn’t gotten to yet (fuck that Solo ending I guess). Flirting with Ventress, maybe tease a Mace Windu. I want to watch Obi “do the right thing” Kenobi keep fighting the little fights he can cause he can’t give up, but can’t stand to the…

Mfs will have a hitler speech about the Acolyte but look you dead in the eyes and tell you this was a good show. I’m not joking, this is what killed my starwars fandom. The idea that Obi wan went on adventures with baby looney toons leia and rematched darth vader in a stupid wwe match was too much for my fragile brain. The plot and execution was so dumb I coild no longer care about what happened in star wars anymore. To this day, I do not care anymore. You can’t come back from how stupid this show was.

it’s good to see anakin and obi-wan again overall it’s not the best star wars TV show out there. it has some flaws, but ewan and hayden did a fantastic job in this. and the young leia actor stole the whole show too. carrie fisher would’ve been proud of her. the last duel between vader and obi wan is more than just a simple duel, it’s so emotional (which i didn’t expect) and probably one of many epic battles in star wars

I finished my first serie of Star Wars .and it’s okay. So obi wan it’s a good character I’m not ngl,bue dark Vader it’s peak 10/10.and the third sister is very stupid I hate her

57. M

I mean the concept of the show and the outline of the plot weren’t bad at all What made the show bad was how modern it looked and the distance from the original “vibe” of star wars I really like obi wan as a character that’s why i decided to give this show a go Princess Leia’s casting choice was immaculate Third sister didn’t know how to hold and use a lightsaber to save her life The flashback scenes were hayden Christensen obviously looks older than he should be kinda threw me off but he is so fine i am not complaining

Çoğu kişi Obi-wan’ın Anakin’in kaçmasına, onunla karşılaşmaya, yüz yüze gelmeye çalısmamaya çalışmasına takılmış. Ancak bunu yapmasının sebebi gayet açık bence. Adam kardeşini yakmak zorunda kaldı, onu ölüme terk etti ve yıllar sonra yaşadığını öğrendi. Bu kolay bişey değil. Birde Obi-Wan’ın Anakin onu tutup laflara atma…
