Movie: This is a movie about Santa’s daughter going to Phoenix. Me: That’s Anna Kendrick wandering around British Columbia with an orange filter on the camera so it looks kind of hot.

Santa’s daughter takes down the sexist elf patriarchy and learns self love along the way. And there’s a cgi baby reindeer 🎄

you guys may hate me for this rating but…. i don’t care and most importantly, i had fun! sometimes you need to enjoy the moment instead of criticizing every little thing. yes, it’s cheesy. yes, it’s predictable. it made me smile and tear up toward the end. i needed this film more than this film needed me. i could rewatch this again. i’m soft up on this letterboxd review today. added to: 2019 ranked.

watched this for bill hader and expected it to be really bad but it was surprisingly so good and heartwarming even if it’s cringe at times. the predictability of the plot didn’t bother me much because although i knew what was gonna happen the way they executed it was so good to see.

This movie it kind of generic but not in an offensive way, but with the knowledge that Bill and Ana started dating because of this film where they play SIBLINBGS? Gross. Get it out of here.

i watched this the day kamala harris lost the 2024 election and all i said was “well, i guess a woman can’t be president or SANTA CLAUSE.” LIKE HER FATHER COULD HAVE WORKED TO CHANGE THE SANTA LAWS? But NOOOOOOOO. EVEN SANTA CLAUSE ISN’T SAFE FROM THE PATRIARCHY. Argh

Just watched Noelle, My honest rating: 6.5 out of 10. Here’s another Christmas movie I’ve watched even though it’s nowhere near Christmas… oh well! I remember watching this for the first time, I think, in either 2020 or 2021, and I thought it was a pretty good movie. Going into this rewatch, I was hoping I’d enjoy it just as much as I did the first time. Saving Christmas together what a joy! Kris Kringle’s daughter, Noelle, sets off on…

Noelle is that typical Christmas movie where you already know exactly how it’s going to end, but you watch it anyway because the atmosphere is nice and the magic of the season makes everything lighter. Anna Kendrick carries the film with an absurd amount of charisma. Noelle is fun, optimistic, and has that chaotic energy that makes you root for her from the first scene. The problem is that, despite the protagonist working very well, the story ends up being…

This review sponsored by PetCo With thanks to the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce Apple and iPad donated to have their products featured in this review. This review made with the gracious assistance of Nintendo Switch. —- I kid, I kid. Anna Kendrick remains the world’s cutest li’l button and never is her empathic charm more on display than in this totally guileless children’s fantasy. Hader is sorely underused as a reluctant first-time Santa, but Kendrick’s determination saves the day and…

A sweet film, with a good message. The story was quite predictable and took quite a bit from other Christmas movies but overall a good family film. The special effects could not do with some improvements, you could tell this was definitely a streaming film.

No idea why I decided to watch a Christmas movie in March, but it was good, and it has Anna Kendrick in it so bonus!
-
T

It’s easy to rag on the over reliance on CGI comic relief animals, but there’s a really kind core to this movie. It really nails the Christmas spirit without a hint of irony. Just good vibes and the belief that there is good in the world.

I really like this movie I always have and I always will. it’s kind of dumb. I can’t lie and the storyline is also kind of dumb but it’s so nostalgic for me for some reason even though it literally came out within the last 5 years. but still it’s a great feel good movie
-
C
pretty good xmas movie !! kinda like the plot but like the actors anna kendrick and bill hader
-
S
watched this on christmas (2024) that year’s christmas was boring (every christmas man yata sa ako life kay boring) so i thought watching a movie about christmas would cheer me up, and actually it did. this was prolly my first christmas movie.

Of all the Disney+ launch titles, this wasn’t my favorite but it was the most entertaining. I just like the fact that it’s an original Christmas film with a fun premise, and Anna Kendrick does a good job in the lead role. I could see myself watching this again.
