mostly amusing. gets a lot out of being generally free of the FAST & FURIOUS dudebro stuff, which grates even in the good ones. very clearly a movie made by a stuntman, with a lot of clean practical flips and rolls. there’s an unfortunate tendency to show the big hits from multiple esoteric angles (say, from inside one of the vehicles or mounted on the side) without showing us a master. occasionally vaguely Hawks-y, although not enough to make it actually good. inexcusably long.

This is always an enjoyable time to watch! What a blast from start to finish this was! Aaron Paul is really good! Aaron Paul and Imogen Poots have great chemistry together. Scott Mescudi aka Kid Cudi is truly hilarious in this and is probably my favorite part of this! Rami Malek & Ramón Rodríguez are good. The cinematography is fire! The directing is solid. The story is enjoyable. This definitely has its issues, but this is still a very fun watch!! The Greatest Actors of All Time Ranked

What a fun movie! Truly underrated, with so much soul. I’m astounded that a movie that is literally about cars had me hooked the entire time. Aaron Paul gave the performance of his career, excluding Breaking Bad, and the editing and characters were all standouts. My only real issue is that the action isn’t particularly well choreographed, but even that doesn’t take away from how good this picture is! I don’t understand how Aaron Paul could be so good at acting in Breaking Bad and Beyond The Sea, and then so bad in this. It’s almost painful. Yet somehow he was still better than everyone else, besides Kid Cudi of all people. Maybe that actually speaks to his skills because he matched the insane corniness and cringe of the script and vibe. The only good thing was the cars. Otherwise, predictable, weak, unrealistic, and over the top.

Third night at the new place no internet. So we threw on Need for Speed. Objectively this is like a two star movie at most, but I fucking love it. It’s Venn diagram of shit that I like is a perfect circle. Aaron Paul, Imogen Poots, Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi), really bad writing and acting. Awesome movie. Really need to grow the blu ray/4k collection for better options than this, but I love it.

Pilla los elementos fundamentales del juego y los usa decentemente, pero esos elementos (carreras callejeras, persecuciones policiales…) te sirven bien como premisa para un juego que se sustenta en la jugabilidad, para una peli suele ser insuficiente y aquí, efectivamente lo son. A pesar de tener un reparto espectacular (Aaron Paul, Rami Malek, Dakota Johnson, Michael Keaton…), la peli sufre de una Epicidad, drama y romance barato. Bua, eso sí, termina con “Roads Untravelled” de Linkin Park, muy buenos últimos 10min, está última parte si me ha convencido. Pd. Cuanto daño ha hecho Fast And Furious a este tipo de películas.

La verdad no he jugado mucho los juegos de Need for Speed y no se mucho de ellos, no sé si tienen una historia o si la trama de la película está inspirada en uno de los juegos. Y desde esa perspectiva la verdad me gustó bastante, tienen un gran cast con buenas actuaciones, buenas escenas de carreras, una buena trama (aunque tampoco es nada que no se haya visto antes) y una gran banda sonora, porque usar a Linkin Park como parte de tu película ya hace al soundtrack superior al promedio (sino preguntenle a Transformers).

- Synopsis
