I’m amused reading people’s comments on this film. Is it a very emotional and dramatic film? yes, it is. is it moralist and deals with delicate issue about life/death? yes. My Sister’s Keeper brings a lot of reflections about morality which is important to foster discussions, even if you don’t agree with. Our modern life has brought us new dilemmas about life and rights. I just want to highlight one: the right for dying. Nowadays we have been able to increase our lifetime due to important medical methods. From this, our selfishness and love have allowed us to extend somebody’s suffering just to please our stingy desire of keeping people with us. And I can not forget what my greatgrandmother…

This film was impossible to watch through all the fierce bouts of projectile vomiting it produced. Fuck Hollywood cancer. Fuck this manipulative bullshit. Fuck all involved. I’m off to clean and redecorate my living room.

cannot imagine the level of delusion it takes to have an entire child just to serve as an organ harvest for your fave child, all while thinking this is something a loving parent would do

Makes me and my sister cry every single time. Funny story: I was rewatching it once while my sister was getting ready for a party. She sat down to watch for a few minutes while waiting for her ride… ended up crying and had to redo her entire makeup. Shoutout to Abigail Breslin for that performance.

Watching this movies is so hard because it’s watching grief happen so honestly. The mother who refuses to believe her child is going to die and the family who is having a hard time too. And Kate wanting and accepting death as well

I wonder if the mom was this unlikeable in the book or if Cameron Diaz didn’t know how to act with any nuance lmfaooo just nothing but acting like a fucking lunatic. Had me thinking every slur against women and I can’t even feel bad cuz she called that hospice nurse a BROAD. Also why did nobody clock the service dog scene lmfao… like duh service animals act like that when there’s a medical emergency dumbass. John cassavetes ur son doesn’t know how to make movies.

His mom lacks neurons in her brain? “They have thought about having more children” wtf with the doctor, what is his problem?. Kate and Taylor made a very nice couple, they’re so cute. In the end Kate was able to visit Taylor 🥹. That all of Kate’s birthdays go to the Montana made me cry a lot. What’s why are the credits blurry😭? I wrote all the sentences while watching the movie btw.

I really liked the legal parts of the movie and it was very emotional but i can understand why people were upset w the way it portrayed people with cancer as burdens

Even more devastating on rewatch. “To Jesse: I’m sorry I took all the attention when you were the one who needed it most. Dad, I took your first love from you. I only hope that one day you get her back. Mom, you gave up everything for me. Your work, your marriage, your entire life. Just to fight my battles for me every single day. I’m sorry you couldn’t win. And to my baby sis, who was always so very little… I’m sorry I let them hurt you. I’m sorry I didn’t take care of you. It was supposed to be the other way around.”

they had a pot of gold with that plot but the reveal of kate’s wishes at court ruined it for me. i wish they had stuck to the ethical dilemma of saviour siblings and kids’ bodily autonomy.

The people who die dont suffer that much as people who will bury them . I dont know why it works, but it just does. This movie made me cry, o sure it did. A lot of. I just glad that she had love, and excited something more than just hospital. Her dad did the right but very hard choice by letting her be by the sea, atlest she died remembering it. This movie made me feel so many times…

“if you’re ever lost or scared, go to montana.” “montana?” “yeah. that’s where i’ll be.” this movie……… my heart hurts so much. aside from the insufferable mom, i really enjoyed the movie. still love cameron diaz’s performance, her reading the scrapbook killed me. the idea of having to continue life without my sisters is the worst thing in the world, vice versa. death is not kind and it does not wait. it’s such a difficult concept to grasp. “i’ll never…

No entanto,…

52 film challenge: a film that features an illness Well, that was depressing! Structurally and pacing-wise this was all over the place, especially at the beginning. It felt a lot more intent on telling and not showing the Fitzgerald family dynamics and as a result it felt disjointed. Having said that, the pacing did sort of level out as it went on, and the ending packed an emotional punch for sure

Well…This had me in bits. All I knew coming into this is it was something to do with a girl and her sister who had cancer and that Cameron Diaz’s character wasn’t exactly being as nice as she could be. It’s been in my collection and on my watchlist for a long time and I genuinely couldn’t remember anything else I may have picked up on about the plot over the years. So I almost went into it entirely blind.…

When I was 15 my 18 years old sister took me to the theater to see The Hangover. The theater wouldn’t let her buy me a ticket. Instead of going home, she bought me a ticket to see Year One and then she went and saw this. After Year One ended I went into her theater to sit with her and finish this movie. The theater was filled with uncontrollable sobbing. I was laughing really loudly at all the noises…
