Maleficent being “true love’s kiss” instead of some boy Aurora met 5 minutes ago fucks me up every time. I owe writer Linda Woolverton my life.

The concept here is strong, and I completely understand what Jolie saw in the material: The chance to tell a love story about the power of adoptive motherhood. The brief hints at that theme, along with Jolie herself in all her glowering, pointy-cheekboned glory, provide a few glimmers of life. But most of the execution is very poor, from its underdeveloped fairy-tale world (where two warring kingdoms are populated about about five people in total, plus a handful of CGI critters) to its ham-fisted dialogue to the supporting performances. (Sharlto Copley’s Scottish accent is so bad, his dialect coach should asked to have his name taken off the film and been credited as “Alan Smithee.”) I’m not really sure who…

maleficent being aurora’s true love kiss and in return aurora returning maleficent’s wings to her, giving them both freedom and an understanding as to what love is… crying my eyes out

Maleficent said yeah I support men’s rights… men’s rights to shut the fuck up! Can’t wait for the sequel whenever I get around to seeing it! I’m bound to love it! Also stream Lana’s Once Upon a Dream ✨✨✨

Quite possibly one of if not the only good Disney Live Action “remakes” ever made. Its probably more of a reimagining but still worth watching.
-
M
this is what disney should’ve done with all their live action remakes i always thought maleficent was hot and this just further reinforced that thought

AND CAN WE TALK ABT THAT THE TRUE LOVE’S KISS WAS NEVER FROM PHILIP, IT WAS FROM MALEFICENTTTTTT arghhehhwhhr they’re so precious 🙁

What I liked most about this movie was seeing the villain’s point of view and understanding why she acted in a violent way. By trying to get revenge, Maleficent realizes the big mistake she has made, but she doesn’t know how to fix it. What I liked about the ending was that Maleficent finally learns to let go of her hatred and becomes more like the person she was before.
-
R
Story was predictable but i love the performance by Angelina and elle. Decent 1 time watch 😁

Tudo nessa história me emociona.

Gorgeous visuals, a great twist on a familiar story, and Angelina Jolie absolutely owns every scene. 🖤
-
Y
Why did they make an evil character into an anti-hero and make a real hero (Prince Phillip) into a side character? I will never understand that; totally ruined the classic fairy tale.
-
R
a man will do anything to destroy a woman’s peace

T
Why was Prince Phillip even there at the end he doesn’t even know her
-
S

I loved the metaphor of wings as a symbol of SA, but on the other hand, the execution was dreadful. It remains, however, a well-conceived and innovative film, managing to offer a fresh perspective without overwhelming the source material.

A childhood favorite that still holds up. When I hate on live action remakes it’s never about this one. I cry every time at aurora’s waking scene, their mother/daughter bond is so important to me. “Hello, beastie” 🥹 Forget hogwarts, I want to live in the moors soo badly. It’s such a visually stunning & magical movie, and I feel like the cgi is lwk better than some we see today… plus the costuming—so good. Kid me was desperate for maleficent wings…

Angelina Jolie in this was one of my first loves. Genuinely one of my favourite films when I was a child and through this rewatch I remember why I loved it. I love the message so much and the way maleficent is presented, instead of removing her actions, it justifies them in a way I love

8/10 A great underrated Disney live action movie. Angelina Jolie as Maleficent was amazing and her story was so good. Elle fanning as Aurora was also a great choice. Their chemistry together was so strong and great that you forget that Maleficent was a danger to Aurora, plus the action was great too. Honestly, this movie is one of the most fun and great live action Disney movies ever made.
-

it was okay, though i do prefer the original story, but a good movie nonetheless! a little boring and the pacing was a bit off, but not bad!

Oi?

#hearmeout Diaval 😍

the live action remakes went from looking like plastic to looking like bland dogshit. this movie sucks, but i miss the plastic vibe i guess.

“I had wings once, and they were strong. But they were stolen from me.” As far as Disney live actions go, Maleficent is by far the best. When I first watched this film in my childhood, I was enthralled by the beauty of the Moors, as well as all the lovely creatures and fair folk that made their homes there. The CGI created a beautiful flowing and ebbing ecosystem, a paradise hidden behind protective thorns. The choice to focus the movie…

Best disney live action remake
- Synopsis
- A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. She rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal – an act that begins to turn her heart into stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading King's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom – and to Maleficent's true happiness as well.
