The fourth installment of George Miller’s rambunctious postapocalyptic saga arrives in theaters like a tornado tearing through a tea party. In an age of weightless spectacles that studios whittle down from visions to products, here’s a movie that feels like it was made by kidnapping $150 million of Warner Bros.’ money, absconding with it to the Namibian desert, and sending footage back to Hollywood like the amputated body parts of a ransomed hostage. i actually really really liked this one, but i can’t remember why i wanted to watch it at first. the cinematography is phenomenal, the scenes are gorgeous, the whole thing is just so absurd in a way that works super well. the “witness me” thing was interesting. my mom started watching it with me halfway through and actually sat through a lot of it, which i think also merits some points

Gets better with every rewatch. This time in particular noticed just how much the music adds to the driving force (no pun intended) of this rollercoaster of a movie

Hands down the greatest action movie ever made 🙌🏾

Rewatched on the plane. Such a brilliant action movie, just one of the coolest ever. I won’t pretend it’s like the deepest, most intellectually compelling dystopian, but it also is really not trying to be at all. The score and stunts are just so much fun.

Max is basically Bilbo Baggins. Helps a group of people reclaim their home and their hope before frigging off back to wherever he was before the movie started. 1000000/10 my favourite movie

Awesome setting, amazing colour choices for each scene and a pure unrelenting action film. Great movie for fighting against the establishment. Feel like I need to watch the others now not often I start with the 4th movie in the instalment but just didn’t realise it. Still a bit dazed.

Mad Max Fury Road 2015 Now I’m not sure what rock I lived under, but apparently it was big enough to shield my entire being from Mad Max: Fury Road for 11 long years. I’ve watched 30 minutes up to now and decided it was time to start writing. Let’s start with the audio, Dolby Atmos, 5.1.2 channel surround sound. This film feels like it was made for my setup. The climactic roar of engines, the wind sweeping past the…

Great, well acted maximalist sci fi dystopian action film. I think it did what it was trying to do very well but I will say that a lot of the film was just car chases and while it was entertaining I found myself zoning out a bit during those scenes. Overall it’s a badass movie and I loved the guitarist Mf on the front of the vehicle

• I’ll be honest, I was lost at the beginning of the film. I started to enjoy it a bit more shorty after, when I started to get a better sense for the plot • I loved the costume & makeup designs, along with the quirky unique individuals that have brief cameos every now and then. • The stunts are obviously very cool, the dirt bike sequences being some of my favourites. • The parts that stood out for me were…

RAAAAAAHHH Fun movies like this make me want to make movies. “That’s bait.” 🫵 “Angharad used to call them anti-seed. Plant one and watch the thing die.” “All this for a family squabble.” “Just one angry shot! For Furiosa!” “I am the scales of justice! Conductor of the choir of death! Sing brother Heckler! Sing brother Koch! Sing! Siiing!” “Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence.”

chasing the escaping sun. chasing the infantile hope that there is still time. that there is still a Valhalla. that there’s still someone to pray to. the elemental, almost delusory mythology of turning survival into living. you believe in it, so i believe in you. you can keep pretending, but the wasteland exposes all. this is what we come down to, because you aren’t above any of it. the engine only gives out when you stop believing man is still good. you keep moving.
