So while it may be a bit predictable, even with all the twists and turns, this is still a very enjoyable ride of a film. I understand the Guy Ritchie and Tarantino comparisons, they certainly fit, but I think there is a bit more to this than just being a bastard child of someone trying to copy them. One thing that helps tremendously with that is the cast. It’s stacked with a bunch of talented actors that are all having a great time with their roles. There is a lot of charm and charisma on display in this, it really helps with the dialogue which at times does tend to think it’s smarter than it really is. This is probably…

Lucky Number Slevin is a Tarantino and Guy Ritchie wannabe film. It isn’t as clever or smart as it thinks, you can predict the twist half way through it’s story telling. BUT, but it’s a slick, entertaining movie. It got solid cast including Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Ben Kingsley and Stanley Tucci. And Josh Hartnett makes a surprisingly great lead, loved his chemistry with Lucy Liu.

Slevin: “I’m gonna say the same thing any man with two penises says when his tailor asks him if he dresses to the right or left.” Lindsey: “What’s that?” Slevin: “Yes.” Lucky Number Slevin is an absurdly mixed bag, that despite its shortcomings, and – by the end – tonal inconsistencies really stands out as a grifter/gangster/mystery/black comedy that we’ve seldom seen. Its stylish. Really stylish. I would say almost on an Edgar Wright level of stylish and comedic storytelling. The dialogue is so incredibly snappy, the editing is so fluent and aggressive, and the mystery is so tightly knitted, making you wonder about how every single object and character correlates to the grander picture. I’m bringing up Edgar Wright…

Drop all the crime stuff, make it a romantic comedy with Josh Hartnett and Lucy Liu, and you’ve got an okay movie

Lucky Number Slevin, by director Paul McGuigan, throws a half dozen plot threads at you in the first ten minutes or so. A bookkeeper is shot while on the way to his car in a parking structure. Bruce Willis (who makes sporadic brief screen appearances) is a mysterious stranger at an airport that strikes up an unusual conversation with a sonny boy, something about a “Kansas City Shuffle.” A nine-to-one odds horse takes a dive at the racetracks. Another unexplained character is shot coming out of a bank. And then there’s Slevin (Josh Hartnett) who has been mistaken first by a neighbor, and then by two thugs that want to take him to a gangster’s hideout. All these half-baked, fleeting…

I don’t really have much to say about the film, great cast, gory action, a cool story and good humor. Great recommendation!

The twist in this movie was actually pretty crazy. If you haven’t seen lucky number slevin, I strongly suggest you do. Your brain gets totally reworked over the course of the film. The acting was phenomenal, but I think you can expect that with the big names. I really don’t have many complaints. No doubt this movie is insane.

Well, the rumors were true…. This was somewhat convoluted… That being said, the performances in here are all around great and you can’t help but loose yourself in the great style of the picture that in many ways reminded me to a hybrid of Guy Ritchie and Matthew Vaughn. Its quick editing and snappy dialogue makes for a good time as we try to unravel the mystery that surrounds our protagonist played by the beloved Josh Hartnett, who sells the charm and the quirky nature of his character. He and everyone is given some great dialogues and scenes that make up for some very entertaining moments from the whole flashback narrations, the cheating scene and its reaction, its just a…

“The two of you killed everyone I ever loved…fuck you both” I watch a movie like this with such a stacked cast with such great performances, SUCH a sharp script, such a well done twist, such good story telling, such great color grading..and I just wonder…why isn’t every movie this good? This has gotta be one of the most underrated and under seen movies of the 2000’s. I’ve shown this to countless people and everybodies jaw is always on the floor by the end. Such a fun movie to rewatch because of all the clues and inklings you pick up on. I would suggest this to everybody. Truly an all time favorite of mine. Fun thing to watch here as a side note is the awesome wallpaper in EVERY SCENE. a visual treat for sure.

Somewhat predictable, boring and seemingly long. By the end of the movie all of the loose ends were tied up giving a sense of satisfaction but at the same time leaving nothing for your imagination. Bruce Willis still cool though.

Absolutely loved all the twists. I had a STRONG suspicion it was allll gonna come together in the end and it genuinely got me. But the writing was absolutely fucking terrible.

Charlie Chaplin entered a Charlie Chaplin lookalike contest in Monte Carlo and came in 3rd. Now that’s a story. But this, this is something else. This is one of the movies I can watch over and over and over again.

A slick, nasty little crime movie with swagger to spare. Lucky Number Slevin moves like a loaded gun. Sharp dialogue, brutal turns, and a cast clearly having a damn good time. It’s stylish without losing its edge, and when the pieces finally click into place, the whole thing lands with a satisfying punch. Smart, violent, funny, and built to be watched twice.

Wants to be charming and clever. Comes off as a Tarantino rip off. The twist is slick but did any of it need to happen like it did?

Was an above average movie

A little predictable outside of a few reveals in the last 15 minute wrap up, especially for a movie that has misdirection at the core of the film, but the way it all comes together at the end and the consistency of it makes you not care and find yourself still impressed and entertained by the twists. Love when a movie still is able to get you to buy in even when it doesn’t succeed in tricking you. So much fun and Josh Hartnett is forever a completely underrated actor.
