If this were a parody it would be a perfect one: formally indistinguishable from the real thing, gleefully violent, front-to-back stupid, politically reprehensible, genuinely exciting. Basically a killer DTV action movie that escaped to theaters, it even has a giant CG faux-long take action sequence. Butler is hilarious.

“Fuck me? Fuck YOU!” – one of this film’s best one-liners, and an accurate summation of its stance on US foreign policy. My tolerance for/interest in this kind of neo-Reaganite bloodbath is low compared to a lot of my trash-action-loving pals, but something about the combination of absolute boneheaded stupidity, somewhat legitimately staged action (couple of nice one-takes towards the end, if you haven’t gotten sick of that shit yet), and a shockingly good cast give this a deceptively high amount of entertainment value. If you thought the first one was unsubtle, then this one takes it to eleven. After a genre defining opening in which every single G8 leader is assassinated in hilariously un-PC ways, this film takes the concept of jingoistic action films and drives it so far it’s own arse, it tears through its own oesophagus. This film is problematic. It’s impossible at times to believe it was only made ten years ago due to its own absolutely batshit (at times) borderline racism, yet for all its flaws it very nearly matches its predecessor in pure entertainment value.

The west has fallen, gazillions must die. This was a fetish movie for people who really hate Britain. “Prepare for sacrifice” is crazy. Saying no to, “was that really necessary?” was fucking hilarious. I don’t really understand the people calling this American propaganda when the Americans and Brits are failing and getting fucked hard for most of the movie. Minor spoiler warning: The actor made the main terrorist guy seem cool and he aura farmed his death.

A ridiculously awesome film that achieves everything it sets out to. The concept alone is remarkable but to see this brilliantly executed terrorist attack unfold over the first half of the film is stunning. It’s such a layered and complex and clever attack. Then, of course, it’s Gerard Butler time and he delivers and then some in the second half with some terrific action hero stuff to save the day. This film is a dumb, well hung muscle-bound hunk. It’s a big-titted blonde with no brain. London Has Fallen knows exactly who it is and what it’s about and it’s shockingly good for its genre.

It was on TV. I watch one part. These movies are all the same, but I love them. Love Gerard Butler as bodyguard. Don’t judge me, but I LOVE this trilogy (maybe not the best, but when I was little this was my favv). There is something special in watching men who can fight.
