“They fuck you at the drive-thru, ok? They fuck you at the drive-thru!” I like this one even more than the first. Mainly because of Leo Getz. Everyone else knows Joe Pesci from gangster roles in Scorsese movies🕴️ but to me he’ll always be Leo Getz, a goofy money laundering hothead. Love him.😅 Nobody seems to give a shit about the Lethal Weapon movies anymore and I don’t know why. Action classics with heartbreaking moments💔 but a great sense of humor😆 too. One thing I love about this one is that Riggs and Patsy Kensit bang🍆 in his trailer. Modern Action heroes seem so sexless but Riggs fucked. And it was hot.🥵 If you haven’t seen this it will sound…

ten times more bisexual than the original, twice as much action and laughs. the toilet bomb sequence is a top 5 action movie scene of all time, it’s unmatched for conceptual strength and emotional intensity, and that’s not even getting into the excellent car chases, explosions and nail guns. unbelievable how back in the day you could just make an entire film series about two guys who are really good buddies; america used to be a place where things happened.

The toilet bomb scene is the peak of this series. The silent look of love Murtaugh gives Riggs before his ass blows up is beautiful and well earned.

In this movie Mel goes psycho-mode on Apartheid South Africa because they kill a woman he had sex with one time, and they also killed his wife, the one whose death made him go psycho-mode in the first movie just for added effect.

73 Starts with the Merrie Melodies theme and floors it from 0 to 60. Absolutely insane opening. Third act complicates things with some decent drama and seriousness but this is mostly a surreal 80s comedy cartoon with references to Looney Tunes and The Three Stooges.

Okay, Okay, Okay✋. It’s got one of cinema’s best duos going batshit crazy on some south african Neo-Nazis😵. It’s got Joe Pesci as a goofy lil hothead🗯️. It’s got a sweet soft rock soundtrack🎸. It’s got hot sex🔥. It’s got an exploding toilet💥🚽. It’s got everything I could want. Banger sequel & the perfect action movie, okay?🤘😎 And just a reminder to everyone: THEY FUCK YOU AT THE DRIVE-THRU!🤬Okay? They FUCK you at the Drive-Thru!

Lethal Weapon 2 is a damn good sequel. The last half of the movie is bonkers as Mel and Danny go loco on anyone and everyone in their way. Lethal Weapon 2 also has the balance of comedy and action. I prefer the action, but Joe Pesci is perfectly cast as Leo Getz. No other actor could do that role like Joe does. The sex scenes with Mel Gibson and Patsy Kensit are hot with a capital H. Why don’t we see hot sex in action movie blockbusters today? There’s still the occasional strip club scene, but that’s about it. It makes me sad. I wonder what we would think of this film had they used Shane Black’s script? Oh yeah, Sam the dog might be might favorite doggie in all of cinema. The bonding on the toilet between Riggs and Murtaugh is cinema. God Bless, Richard Donner. He sure knew how to entertain his audience.

There’s an episode of Psych where Shawn grossly overestimates the power of diplomatic immunity and if this movie was the only point of reference he had for the concept then, quite frankly, I’m on his side. This movie makes it seem like you can get hired as a consulate’s maid then you can legally kill a guy.

Like the first but is more anti white South African which is good. It did also have Joe Pesci which didn’t really help it. Another solid watch but also not super memorable? Did a double feature with the first one so I was kinda fading by the end of this one.

“They fuck you in the drive thru!!”. I have watched this installment the least, mostly because it’s my least favorite from the series. Now, after rewatching this I have a new found appreciation for this one. This film is truly underrated, the one liners, the introduction of Leo Getz, and subtle humor are just undeniably funny and classic. This truly has found a new home and spot on my favorites list of films.

Pesci plays a different kind of Italian guy in this one, a bad guy gets decapitated by a surfboard, & Murtaugh delivers probably the best comeback before killing someone in an action movie finale. Pretty much the pinnacle of the ‘80s action genre

The lyrics to “Cheer Down”, the George Harrison song that plays over the closing credits, are… something. “When your teeth drop out You’ll get by even without taking a bite If your dog should be dead I’m gonna love you instead The world loves a clown, cheer down” Says everything you need to know about Lethal Weapon 2.

One of the oddest musical scores I’ve ever heard in a movie. Eighty-five percent of the score is the same four note saxophone and guitar riff, which sounded more like an eighties children’s drama where the main character is caught sneaking out by his parents, than a high-octane buddy cop action thriller. An incredibly amount of cheese. Please watch the movie with this in mind and believe me, you will be surprised. Outside the score, Glover and Gibson are fine.…

He’s STILL too old for this shit! Apartheid vs cops The saxophone music is not nearly as funny as the first one, but this one has Joe Pesci

A mediocre film is made not only watchable, but quite good by the incredible chemistry between its two leads and its strictly anti-apartheid messages. I’m actually surprised I didn’t hate this one, given that a lot of it is rather basic action that never really interested me, and is certainly not what I like the most from my movies, but when some random scenes came on, like the toilet scene or the very ending, I was so locked in cause…

Back to back perfect action films for the boys! Mel Gibson once again looking like he’s never been happier than when he’s around his Black partner and his Black family. Generational acting job. They actually straight up fight money laundering Nazis in this one, and Mel Gibson believably DESPISES their master race rhetoric spewing. They kill an off-duty detective by planting a bomb on her pool’s diving board. One bounce and she’s blown 30 feet forward. It’s insane. They also tried to blow up Danny Glover while he pooped. He somehow sat on the toilet for 18 hours without just ending it from static legs.

Such a great sequel, love the comedy and action in this one! Also, the South African villains give it a different feel from the first. I’d put it slightly below the original, but still really enjoyed it.

Overall a better than the first. This movie has the best bad guys of the series. I don’t know when it was decided that this was going to be the plot in the sequel, but I like how in the first film there’s the ‘Free South Africa’ magnet/sticker on Murtagh’s fridge. 1 is Murtagh’s, 2 is Riggs’.
-
F
Kinda crazy seeing an action blockbuster sequel to a popular movie is so anti apartheid/genocide/nazi/fascist. Like they clearly make white South Africans the bad guys and constantly mock them calling them adolf and members of the master race. You would never see Hollywood make something like this today. You’d think it’d be bc Mel Gibson leads, but no, you guessed it, it’s because of woke.

fun sequel. Glover and Gibson make a great duo. Pesci brings some great moments with his energy and enthusiasm.

I like Lethal Weapon 1 better than Part 2. LW1 is grittier and a tighter story. The action also feels more organic. While the ultimate villain, Rudd, in 2 is more of a presence than General McCallister in 1, it was missing something that Mr. Joshua brought to the table. It also was a little too light for my liking. I didn’t like the inclusion of Pesci as Leo Getz very much. He’s more of a clown than a criminal…

#102 Great movie. First time watching that I remember. The toilet scene will stick out to me the most as it had humor and heart. Weird combination. Joe Pesci was gold as he was back then. Curious what they might do for part three. Worth watching if you are in the mood for comedy mixed with tragedy. Watched 08/15/26

Definitely my favorite one of the saga, i love how dark and cruel is the last act. Would have been perfect if Riggs had died at the end.

This takes everything about the first movie and excels it. Chemistry between the leads is better, the acting is better, the comedy and action are both better making it an almost perfect action comedy. I mean seriously the way this movie manages being goofy cop movie and cop movie with stakes is impressive but it does. “It’s just been revoked” is an all timer quote. The villains suck again but that almost makes it feel better when they go down

A decent sequel that continues the use of 80s saxophone/guitar and has some really memorable moments (the bathroom scene comes to mind). Cheesy, but in the best way.

S
I like a good sequel that builds on the original, and “Lethal Weapon 2” does that fairly effectively. With Murtaugh and Riggs now established as partners after the original film, the sequel takes the pair into a new case and develops them and their relationship further. I love how Riggs has kind of become part of Murtaugh’s family, just as much as I love how Murtagh’s house always seems to be under renovation. Also, the addition of them having to…
