FALLEN KINGDOM makes Jurassic World look like Jurassic Park. a tedious, infuriating, and braindead ordeal that knowingly epitomizes so much of what’s wrong with modern blockbusters. i *hated* every cheap, cynical, ill-considered moment of this stupid fucking movie. it’s so thunderously awful that i almost *want* to watch the “Cinema Sins” video about it, just to try and keep score. almost. i can’t think of a more damning criticism right now. please for the love of god put this franchise out of my misery and kill the dinosaurs already. kill them all. start with Blue. i didn’t spend my entire childhood looking under the bed for velociraptors just to be told that they’re cute and huggable and i’m actually supposed to love these lizard killing machines now. i never imagined a haunted house movie about dinosaurs could possibly be this dumb. my mistake. my mistake, indeed.

Every Jurassic Park sequel has had an uncomfortable relationship with logic, but even by this franchise’s standards, Fallen Kingdom is particularly ridiculous. All of the characters — even the heroes we’re supposed to root for — make baffling, indefensible choices. They put their trust in obviously evil people; they suggest solutions to problems that are infinitely more dangerous than the problems themselves. They build underground laboratories for secret dinosaur experiments with laxer security than my daughter’s daycare. The only characters who behave rationally, in fact, are the dinosaurs. At one point, someone refers to Blue as the “second smartest animal” on Earth. Based on the evidence in this film, I think it’s time for a recount. Full review at ScreenCrush.

for the one or two scenes that are actually good in the loosest sense of that term there are 5 bajillion scenes that are so painfully, mind-numbingly stupid i was immediately put off again.

The first half of it wasnt too bad, and honestly felt like a pretty sincere story about how the world should and would act to the rights of dinosaurs. Its a fun idea to look at and its plated well. The second half felt like I was watching Looney Tunes Back in Action with a resident evil theme. Its not helped by Rafe Spall who feels like he should be twirling a mustache in most scenes. I don’t even really fault him because the direction of this movie is all over the place.

Ça me rend toujours triste le début de ce film où les faux sauveurs abandonnent par mégarde le diplodocus sur l’île en flamme. L’histoire du dinosaure créé de A à Z qui est super intelligent et la petite fille qui est un clone de sa défunte mère. Je crois que j’ai trop vu ce film je me rappelle de chaque détail quand je le regarde 🤓

Definitely enjoyed this more than the previous film. More dinosaurs!! And honestly, I actually liked the characters this time around. Chris Pratt and Claire have much better banter and chemistry, while the supporting cast is fun too—especially Justice Smith, who is genuinely hilarious here. The volcano sequence is absolutely insane. Dinosaurs running around, the eruption, everyone desperately escaping the fire and ash, and then the cliff sequence—stupid as hell, but insanely well done. Me gustó más que cuando la vi en el cine, aunque aun tiene muchas cosas estúpidas. Bayona es un buen director de desastres, que es algo que la primera película dejó claro que sería su gran diferencia con el sentido de aventura de las de Jurassic Park, y pues, el “desastre” está muy bien hecho. Que pena que pasa en la primera media hora y luego es 1h30 de coorporate bullshit y “como yo” girl stfu.
