I have seen the light. Been watching a lot of Spielberg lately, and out of what I’ve seen so far, this is the movie he directs the FUCK out of the most. Jeff Goldblum in this has more rizz than any man who ever lived

Honestly would’ve been fine if they just did the park with the herbivores. I think they should give it another shot! Thrilling, sentimental, and so iconic it made itself feel cliche. The water glasses scene happened and I went “oh brother. I get it! Like in Jurassic Park!” And the sound on this movie… good lord. If you get a new soundsystem, play Jurassic Park on it. You’ll say “wow, I really feel like I am at lunch performing corporate espionage with Wayne Knight!”

i strongly relate to jeff goldblum in this film because in this scenario i too would just walk around being sexy and flirting with laura dern then get injured at literally the first instance of danger and spend the rest of the time lying dramatically on a table, still being sexy and annoying everyone but with my top off this time

wow… this film should’ve been categorized as sci-fi/horror, not adventure. the first half had a surprisingly sophisticated plot, and this was way more thought-provoking than i expected. however, it quickly became a survival thriller from the second half onward. i was horrified and tense the entire time, so i guess they did a great job making this film lol i obv expected the dinosaurs to cause some kind of trouble for the sake of the plot, but not this much.…

The Goat most scenes still hold up to this date regarding significance. Raptors in the kitchen, T-Rex chasing car in rear view mirror, even Muldoon saying clever girl.

Rewatched this for I don’t know what time. Growing up with this movie and watching it solely because of the dinosaurs never made me wonder how scary all of this would be. More than just a movie about dinosaurs, now I see that it’s more about men playing God and its consequences. Being able to finally understand the problems the characters have with each other and the park made this movie wayyyy better than I remember it being. It was already highly rated for me but this put it up there. I will never get tired of rewatching and rewatching and rewatching this one.

I grew up loving these movies and to rewatch it for the first time and still love it was is truly special to me. I really love steven spielberg as a director and this is one of his best projects. This movie really has it all. It’s a good balance between action, plot, comedy and tension. T-Rex was a brutal dinosaur and my favourite in this movie. She’s the dinosaur that caused them to split up. I really enjoyed the opening of this movie and the ending to. Will probably rewatch the next few movies in the coming days so i’m excited.

I watched this with my 4 year old for the first time. She thought it was scary but great. She got just as scared from the car almost falling on the kid as from anything the dinosaurs did. I just think that’s a funny thing to be afraid of. Obviously the score is great but this time I realized after the first brachiosaurus shot, which hasn’t aged very well with a 4k release, everything else looks great. The practical effects…

Watched all these movies for the first time when I had covid. Just read the book and it’s better 🤭 I’m gonna rank the Jurassic park-related things for you guys 1. Book 2. Original movie 3. Original ride 4. New ride Kill every other movie

This film was clearly groundbreaking at the time back in 1993. I feel it hasn’t aged all that well though, perhaps the no fewer than six sequels has something to do with it, plus many other dinosaur-related films along the way, most recently The End of Oak Street. At the time though, pretty impressive. The music is one of John William’s more iconic compositions, and the script based on Michael Crichton’s book is wonderful. Also the special effects were amazing…

Has someone ever asked Steven Spielberg how it felt to have this and ‘Schindler’s List’ come out on the same year? I know they have, but oh my god. This is all-around fantastic, one of those perfect 90s blockbusters that encapsulates the decade in so many ways. You can feel the excitement in every single scene in this film. We say it a lot, but truly only Spielberg is able to capture that thrill of stories so entirely. You can often tell when something is directed by Spielberg, and this was very directed by Spielberg! Bonus points: Dinosaurs!!!! (& Laura Dern)
