Rotten Tomatoes: 62% Metacritic Metascore: 48 IMDB: 6.7 67/100 Release Date: 20 October 2017 Distributor: Momentum Pictures Yossi: “I am not a hero. I am just someone who refused to die.” Jungle is a brutal survival story that’s basically Daniel Radcliffe suffering through hell for two hours. Based on Israeli adventurer Yossi Ghinsberg’s real 1981 nightmare in the Bolivian Amazon, the film follows four backpackers whose jungle trek goes catastrophically wrong, leaving Yossi stranded alone for three weeks with nothing. TRIVIA: Radcliffe lost 14 pounds for the role by eating just one chicken breast and a protein bar daily for two weeks. The real Yossi Ghinsberg said Radcliffe was “starving himself” to authentically feel what he endured. Director Greg McLean…

In the years since hanging up his quidditch broom, Daniel Radcliffe has blazed a surprisingly adventurous trail, devoting himself to risky projects that stray far from the beaten path, some of them quite literally. For the second time in the last 18 months, the former “Harry Potter” star has wandered off into the wilderness, following the miraculously inventive “Swiss Army Man” with a true-life survival story about a restless Israeli kid who wound up stranded by himself in an uncharted stretch of the Amazon. And while “Jungle” glaringly lacks the flair and depth of feeling that defined Radcliffe’s previous stroll through the great outdoors, it’s somehow even more disgusting than “Swiss Army Man,” a movie in which the actor plays a corpse whose farts are so explosive that they propel his body across the surface of the ocean like a jet ski). Bunch of drama queens in a jungle what the hell The actual true story this film is based on is a surprisingly deep rabbit hole if you decide to dig into it. But this… this isn’t it. There are two acts. The first is an intriguing, “where is this going?” kind of ride, despite some irritating creative choices. Then the second act just becomes… KEVIN? Kevin?? KEVIN??? while somatic Radcliffe resorts to Naked Snake survival tactics(not really). And McLean’s direction is full of admiration for nature, with its majestic landscapes and tense survival sequences, but they only seem to scratch the surface of the man-versus-nature conflict, it’s just empty grandeur, you could say. I mean, Radcliffe does everything that’s asked…

Where tf are Marcus and Karl? Justice for Marcus – really felt like I related bc he was crying about ruining the vibe for something he genuinely couldn’t help. Too bad compeed’s weren’t commercially available until 1986 – would have been a massive help & essential on their packing list (alongside a dbs on Karl)

I told my parents I’d be back in a year, but I don’t think I’m ever going back. Decent movie, the IRL story is insane though. Surviving in the jungle for 3 weeks damn. Still wondering what happened to Karl and Marcus. Anyway I did enjoy the movie.

Buena peli.

This movie fascinated me. It just goes to show most hurdles in life are mental. At every point he overcame something crazier. It just have been near impossible to film let alone to actually experience. I think this sits on the thin line between too scary and about appropriate. Fair play

No animals were actually harmed in the making of this movie but God damn that still doesn’t make me feel any better. Brutal, you see some harsh and disgusting shit in this movie, from trench rot to monkey bashing. You get a bad vibe from Karl the entire movie, no surprise his ending in this story. Beautiful sets. Intense, dramatic scenes. Four backpacker venture into the Amazon jungle with promises of gold and tribes only to find the harsh reality of jungle life.

I liked it and it was intense at points! 🐒🌲🌌🐍🪾 I actually already knew what the ending was unfortunately from tiktok spoilers – but I can’t believe this film is based off a true story! That’s probably the main reason I found it super interesting cause I was linking events in the movie to the real story. It was fun to debrief with Toa as well .

Yossi, Marcus and Kevin follow some random guy named Karl into the jungle. v smart Karl beats a monkey to death to save bullets and makes them eat it Marcus is depicted as weak and whiny from the moment they enter the jungle. to justify their shitty behavior towards their friend and later leaving him behind??? did they expect the viewer to think “oh yeah makes sense they had no choice” unnecessary body horror scenes: forehead tadpole and trench feet.…
