Brendan Fraser punching that carnivorous fly trap right in the thrussy was the kind of boundary-pushing, bar-raising, trend-setting imagery that 2000’s cinéma needed, AND deserved.

Not remotely surprised to learn that 4DX was invented for this movie (really wish I saw it that way, probably way more fun)

Funny how as soon as Brendan Fraser shows up, the center of the earth starts getting hotter and hotter at an alarming rate.

Got for $2 at the library book store because it came with 3D glasses. Incredible experience. 3D color grade was awful.

‘We’re gonna repel into this deep dark hole?’ Brendan Fraser has the most perfect little ears

Haven’t seen this since I was 9 but it still holds up… 1/3 airplane flicks “Hey Sean, if your mom asks you what you did this weekend, you tell her uncle Trevor took you to Italy.“

Watched silent and subtitled on the plane, and it was STILL a banger. Brendan Fraser supremacy 🔙 The Big Sick

i actually love movies when u know it would never happen in real life and it’s just stupidly insanse
-
C
Li o livro recentemente, e vendo o filme achei bem descontraído e divertido!

for some reason as a child I really yearned to watch this movie, I think I weird obsession for Josh Hutcherson after seeing him in Zathura and Bridge to Terabithia. Instead I became obsessed with the second one many years later but still watched to watch the first one, but it was never ever on any sort of streaming platform…UNTIL NOW!!!! so silly but anyways had a blast, need to rewatch the second one 🥹

A fairly cliché adventure movie, but one that still works. With the iconic Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutcherson, who has been playing this same type of role for way too many years. Is it bad? No. Is it good? Not really either. It’s watchable, but ultimately pretty forgettable.

this felt like a bunch of Disney decors and rollercoasters I do miss how goofy those movie were

-

The CGI was dogshit, yes. But it’s a fun watch what can I say🤷♂️
-
N
-
ꜰ
It was one of the greatest adventure movies to me when I was younger, right after Jurassic Park and Jumanji in my ranking I rewatched it recently and I genuinely don’t remember it being this… shallow lol Still one of my favorites though, I love Josh Hutcherson hehe
-
B
If i had a pair of 3D glasses and a litre of beer this would be an easy 4 star

“Thirteen-year-olds don’t get dibs.” -Trevor, – THS4Y (1/40): boxd.it/WHoM8 Journey to the Center of the Earth is exactly the kind of disposable adventure movie you’d expect. Brendan Fraser is charming enough to keep things moving, and there’s some goofy fun in the creatures and underground world, but the effects have aged terribly and everything feels a little too weightless. Not bad, not particularly good, but an easy 90 minutes of nonsense.

The James Mason movie sneaks into my top 5 all time. This is not that movie. Everything is in focus and looks weird. I guess its a side effect from this being made in the 3D craze. Looks grim at home.

i like the second one better

Pas fou fou
-

The absolute lack of care for poor Josh is insane, Brendan Fraser needs to be in the jail for child endangerment.

Gue ga suka sama aktor yg jadi om nya, karna mukanya ngeselik jir, dan di setiap film yang dia mainin sifatnya sama semua lagi, ego nya gede. Tapi sisanya seru sih, gue juga pengen punya burung penunjuk arah gitu.
